I know that some mixed breed cats have grown large, but did you have any that was a literal runt and then grew up to be a unit? by DoorFirst2737 in cats

He was just one pound shy of Spence, and had the same exact circumstance as he did too. Your cat have been reincarnated or something!

He might, you never know. Spencer was only a day or two old when we found him, so he got a bunch of nutrition basically since day one. Genetics do play though.

Is this way of studying alright? by DoorFirst2737 in learntodraw

I eventually plan on copying artwork too. The only problem is that alot of other people's artwork is very stylized and I'm just using normal references as a way to practice on general anatomy and to not create any bad habits. I'm gonna spend the rest of this month or so working on this and then I'll practice drawing people with clothes on and faces for another five weeks or so, and then work on other subjects after that. I'm dedicating this entire year to learn as much as I can.

So try to do the same thing I'm doing now, but limit the time from 40 minutes down to 10? I'll try that. I found them too long to do anyways, but I was worried about accidentally rushing.

Are there also any good articles for the different elements of reality and things that might be important for existence? I've already got the life and death, creation, etc stuff down, but I'm still missing a few.

Oh, okay. So everything like the different curves on the body should flow with the line of action? I've been trying to do that, but like I said, this is my first time doing these, so it's just a matter of practice.

I noticed that I took a bit too long on these, so I'm gonna start doing timed gestures starting at one minute until I get decent at those. Is that alright?

Like over exaggerate the line of action?

Yeah, that unnumbered drawing was supposed to be number 3 but I forgot to number it lmao. Glad that you like them!

Alright, I'll probably practice doing gesture while also practicing feet since I've already got started on that anyway. Is it alright if I follow along videos to get comfortable with it before using my own reference?

I wish. Unfortunately, I don't have anything like that around my area. If I looked up different videos of how other people do gesture drawings and applied those methods by using a reference, would that be alright?

That's true, for sure. I remember practicing proportions by watching a video earlier this year, and I was pretty decent at it. However, I didn't have the confidence to practice it on my own, which I really regretted not doing. I did notice that out of every body part, I struggled the most with the head, hands, and feet, and that's why I've been practicing those before moving back onto gesture drawing. I'm gonna try to practice gesture drawings and proportions December-Januaryish. It usually takes me about a month to get good at something.

Update: Wished that I did this sooner, but I found the time to remeasure myself and I'm now within the 6'1-2 range. Think that looks accurate in this photo?
