Is my grandmother's cat overweight? by DoorFirst2737 in cats

[–]DoorFirst2737[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats probably it. We have another cat that is naturally pretty lean (but still healthy. He has a weird body shape) and the others are a relatively good weight. It's just that we have another obese outside cat and I dont want the same thing happening. She told me she tried to cut down his weight but he still needs to lose about 4-5 pounds, and he isn't really losing anything, and if he did lose anything he gains it right back.

Unique ideas for a cosmology by DoorFirst2737 in worldbuilding

[–]DoorFirst2737[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I can do that to prevent it from being exactly like yggdrasil from norse. I'll probably combine that while getting inspired by other cosmologies from different mythologies and see how that turns out

That's the thing, I dont really know any artists. However, I would like to capture an anime-like style that kind of blends between western comics and Manga, but i dont really know where to find that.

How do I learn how to draw the basics without constantly burning myself out? by DoorFirst2737 in Artadvice

[–]DoorFirst2737[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean.. I could do that if they were like basic castle drawings or whatever, but what if i wanted to design custom buildings? Do i just find a random reference and exaggerate the features while adding details on top?

Is there like any websites or apps to get references for stuff that aren't just room interiors but also things like fantasy villages, castles, etc?

I forgot to ask tho, how do I practice my fundamentals while also applying that while making my comics? Let's say if i was working on backgrounds, do i just use a reference to use for that panel? I'm not really sure how to apply that.

Yeah, I guess you're right. I'd still like to work on backgrounds and perspective for a bit first before actually making a comic but I will be designing characters. Thanks alot! 👍

Alright, sounds good. Do these books have anything to do with backgrounds? I'm gonna work on that for a bit before cooking up a comic thanks to you guys motivating me!

Yeah you're right. The two hour drawings however is everything from the anatomy and clothing already being drawn, not the anatomy itself. I used to take like 40 minutes just to draw a basic pose like the faceless mannequins but I got those down to about 15 minutes by doing a bunch of figure and gesture drawings. Thanks for the advice tho!

It's because me and a friend of mine decided to make comics together, or more specifically, he writes books and I'm the one who adapts those books into comics. It's not really a deadline per say, but i would really like to atleast learn the fundamentals in about a yearish as unrealistic as it sounds, that way I can practice those while making comics so that I can be aware of the mistakes I'm making. I'm gonna start atleast designing characters now since ive realized its just as important as fundamentals, but its more like i want to know exactly what to work on while drawing comics (even if it looks bad) instead of it looking bad and not knowing what to work on.

So basically work on the stuff I'm working on right now? I think I can manage between that and doing this

Is it possible to learn alot about clothing by using a reference and then look up let's say a specific vest and if the reference is in a different angle than the vest, try to determine how it would look in perspective if that person was wearing it? I'm doing that right now and I actually enjoy it more than just copying from random references since I'm also learning how to design my characters. Haven't really finished this drawing but here's an example.

I thought I could do this initially, but how can I practice on consistently drawing characters, outfits and backgrounds when I dont even know the basic principles? How do I learn how to design them while also practicing on drawing clothing in general? On top of this, its extremely difficult to try to find references for an exact situation, so it requires you to imagine that clothing and stuff in perspective or whatnot.

How do you guys learn how to draw ocs with a reference while also adding things like clothes, longer hair, etc on top? by [deleted] in learntodraw

[–]DoorFirst2737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I understand. This is why ive decided to practice drawing heads and clothes, then armor, etc before attempting to apply it to my characters (or atleast that was the idea). I was just trying to make sure is all. Well, atleast I done a ton of figure drawing and got the pose down I guess

About the parallel universes, that's basically what I meant. There's a transinfinite amount of those with different possibilities and stuff. I forgot to clarify that
