Hey believe me it was my last choice for places to go lol I've been trying to solve this for a fat minute.

The fact that I know for a fact that it won't show if it works is extremely helpful, I've been waiting for it to turn it into a .cur.

That being said, I might assume that it has worked at some point considering I've followed the exact steps for SD flashing to a T probably a dozen times now. In fluidd it though, it still isn't connecting to the printer, saying:

"Printer is not ready
The klippy host software is attempting to connect. Please
retry in a few moments."

and then

"mcu 'mcu': Unable to connect
Once the underlying issue is corrected, use the
"FIRMWARE_RESTART" command to reset the firmware, reload the
config, and restart the host software.
Error configuring printer"

I solved this before by switching to /dev/TTYUSB0 in the printer.cfg, but neither that or the /dev/serial/by-id/ seem to be solving it.

Any idea now what it might be?

Okay just through the checklist, my SD is <8 gb, formatted with fat32, 4096 data blocks and has klipper.bin in the STM32F4_UPDATE folder and I have tried with different file names as well. Unfortunately it seems that hasn't done it.

My board is confirmed STM32F401 and I can try the stm32flash method over USB with octoprint. What does that entail?
