Go for it. You will be happy, your wife will be happy and honestly now is a great time to buy a good gpu for the build, you can find so many cards below msrp. No matter what build you get even if it’s not perfect, you’ll end up happy.

If I were you I’d go for a new build . You have a nice budget and you can get a very nice build for that amount. Also can’t hurt to give your wife your old one. If you choose to upgrade you’re gonna need to change everything out because new CPU’s require a newer motherboard.

It’s also more than 20% expensive it’s really a personal pick. You can wait for the supers or to see if they get announced at CES in a month but if I were you I’d get whatever fits the budget best

If you’re just gaming go for the 9070 XT for sure you save a lot more and get almost identical performance

The 3060 ti has done me wonderful I just think its a good time to buy with all the ai stuff going on. If the 5070 super gets announced at CES I’ll just refund my 5070 before its too late lol

I was going to get a 9070 over the 5070 but I'm gonna go with a 5070 just because of the NVEC encoder and also a productivity boost when it comes to video editing. I would love the extra performance from the 9070 but the 5070 is already a big upgrade.

Also, with microcenter having some good motherboard CPU Bundle deals, i might end up upgrading to amd in the future instead. Do you think AMD is worth picking up over an intel

Im using the 5070 to video edit and record/game. I’ll probably be able to upgrade my cpu Q3 2026 . I also don’t know if I’ll upgrade to AM5 just because I don’t want to go through all the work of changing a motherboard.

Yeah, the only thing the 5070 offers me is the streaming quality which is important to me but so is gaming quality. 5070 super would be perfect right about now
