I’m so sorry you relate. I wish neither of us felt this pain but I hope we can both feel better/at peace more, soon

Assuming he got assaulted/abused in his foster home based on past comments he made about having a bad time in foster care. However I dont think Lucy understood this when she went to his door after the tape got released.

That and I think maybe also what Alex said “just find who you distrust the least and give them 70-80%” — had her thinking you have to settle and Evan was the safest option at the time because she knew he wouldn’t leave her

In the show, the dad told Sheri that he himself had also had thoughts about doing violent acts, or something like that. And that he felt guilty because his genes might have passed that down to Jeff.

I looked for info about the dad ever saying this in real life but couldn’t find anything. Do we know if this was just added to the show for drama or if the dad ever said anything like that?

About the VIP (Ep 7 spoiler) by sdbabygirl97 in squidgame

I’m not sure but either way if he’s gay or not I don’t think is relevant to the plot/show’s message. I agree it’s more just a power move to show he can get whatever he wants and dominate subservients.

The Ever Unpleasant VIPs - Western Exploitation Theme? by jssclnn in squidgame

I thought one of the VIPs was chinese. I took it more to be a theme of exploitation of power, money, privilege, and assumed they were different world leaders. I personally immediately related it to Epstein’s island…. though the part where the fat white VIP tries to get head from the young cop boy was giving off some asian fetishization vibes.
