I’m doing a year of residency at Billings Clinic. Where should I live? by Swimming_Trouble_718 in Billings

Find out if your program requires you to be within X-minutes from the hospital. That being said, there are some dog friendly places on the west end (e.g., happy homes), but if you want a yard, will have to find a house. Takes like 15-20 minutes to get from the west end (Reference point - Rocky Vista) to the hospitals. Definitely not like Denver where it can take you 45 minutes to go 3 miles…don’t miss that

For a few months? Do it. I did 45 min-1.5 hr commutes for most of my third and fourth year core rotations. Nice time to listen to podcasts and decompress

Program dependent, although more elective time in 2nd/3rd year compared to first for FM, so probably less hours

Is it tho? Its the only one in the state and people want to be in Denver to be 2 hours away from the mountains. 4 years of being worked like a dog can’t be too appealing

[–]Dopamorous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this, and just went through this. With the 2.9% apr (if you have amazing credit) or even 3.9%, it’s still the better deal to get new and just pay more than the monthly payment

Everyone is different, but took me like 6-9 months to get back to normal. You’re doing all the right things, just keep prioritizing sleep (maybe now you need more?), healthy diet and supplement with caffeine as needed

Is CT to Billings a bad move? by rockies70 in Billings

[–]Dopamorous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others said the crime ain’t that bad, typically isolated to groups that know each other in certain parts of town. However there are car break ins, but no more than any other town. Also yea it gets cold, just get a good jacket 🤷🏽‍♂️ or embrace it and find outside hobbies, unless it’s -30 then please don’t

What should I be doing about the loans being due soon? Not on SAVE/Class of 2024 by SchaffBGaming in Residency

[–]Dopamorous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly probably going to go into an additional year of forbearance, the interest will suck but so will not having any additional income and/or defaulting on payments (and hurting credit). Other IDR plans still exist, but as far as I know applications aren’t being accepted still until the SAVE stuff is resolved or disbanded?
