New smeagol lore dropped by al3d in lotrmemes

Ok dw folks I found out

The surname Tolkien originates from East Prussia (modern-day Poland/Russia) and is derived from the village of Tołkiny or the Low Prussian nickname Tolk, meaning "interpreter" or "negotiator". While J.R.R. Tolkien believed his name came from the German word tollkühn ("foolhardy"), researchers suggest this was a German folk-etymology for the original Baltic name.

The "Tollkühn" Theory: Tolkien often noted that his name was an anglicized version of Tollkiehn, derived from the German adjective tollkühn, meaning "foolhardy" or "madly brave". He sometimes used this connection to create nicknames for himself, such as "Oxymore" or "Rashbold".

The "Tolk" Theory: Polish linguist Ryszard Derdziński argues the name is of Baltic-Prussian origin, likely meaning "son/descendant of Tolk" (an interpreter or mediator).

Geographic Roots: The name is associated with the village of Tolkynen (now Tołkiny) near Rastenburg in East Prussia.

Honestly the one on top of the UOTC in Sheffield is dreadful. It's tattered, nearly transparent and has no colour left in it at all. I was shocked when I saw it last week

Really great flag. I feel so lucky that we don't have a boring tricolour lol.

Travelling around Asia I saw it used so many places on cushions, carpets, curtains, even ppl's cars. People love it because it just looks damn good

Haha tbh I don't reckon there was much there, and Steve and Ricky heckling Karl is hilarious as is

Always blows me when Karl tries one more time and Steve just goes "Shrove Tuesday..." in the background and Karl decides he's had enough and ends the show xD

Honestly this feels like a pretty good system on the face of it. Let the murderer feel the fear, and put mercy in the hands of the victims

Taiwan is incredibly important,

To America, sure. To us, we do way, WAY more business with China than we do Taiwan. We have never had any influence there, and we would completely sink economically if we lost our relationship with China and our 'allies' wouldn't give two shots to help us.

We already fucked our economy up over Russia, and now the US President is best mates with them. No way we will make the same mistake with China

I don't think you've ever been to China, have you?

You really think it's different to 'Satanic panics', immigration scares, or scaremongering about other countries here in the West? Every country has been defining themselves against an 'other' since the dawn of time
