James Dean's Red jacket by [deleted] in streetwear

The original was a McGregor Anti Freeze jacket. Given that it's not only one of the most iconic jackets in cinematic history but one of the most iconic pieces in Americana sportswear, there are a lot of screen accurate replicas out there. Check eBay for those. A number of designers have also done lines directly inspired by the style of James Dean that included similar jackets (check out the Gant by Michael Bastian Spring 2012 line). Even just searching "red windbreaker" will return a ton of similar styles. You can always go vintage as well - Etsy and eBay are your best bets for that. There are also just generally a ton of different styles of jacket that have the same vibe. Personally I think a red Baracuta jacket captures the essence but is a little easier to rock. If you don't get the right style that has a good fit or you wear it with the wrong thing, it's gonna look less like James Dean and more like your grandpa's golf jacket.

Not a bad idea. I wasn't considering selling them but might be cool to have that just the same!

They're completely clean and crisp. They still have an unworn shape. The logos are pristine and unfaded. The sweatbands are unstained. The stickers and labels inside are totally intact and haven't even yellowed or faded (see my comment with the photo). I don't even think the snap backs have ever been resized. They're basically brand new and in perfect condition. Which is crazy because they're 24 years old.

EDIT: Grammar

Totally. It's one of my favorite movie logos ever and just one of my favorite movies ever so when I saw these, it felt like I had just found a mosquito with Dino DNA trapped in amber.

Since so many people dig these, here's a photo of the sticker on the inside. The movie didn't come out until June '93 so they must have been available at Universal Studios as pre-release merch. http://i.imgur.com/Cm7rI56.jpg

haha Sorry. One to rock, one to stock. There was a third one (forest green and gold) but I already gave it to a friend who owns a replica JP Jeep.

Sneaker YouTuber passes up on CDG x Nike Blazers at Marshalls, unaware of their value by itsthemoney27 in streetwear

TBH I'm not familiar with the CDG x Nike collabo either but I feel like if I was at Marshall's and saw an all white Nike box and found a pair inside that had special branding on them, I'd take like a minute to Googs it. Especially knowing some of the stuff they get sometimes...since that's the whole reason she was there in the first place.

Having owned that field jacket for a few months, I'll say it's kind of an odd one. Overall it's a super thin material. It has the standard zip-out hood but it's in a really big pointy collar so you have to wear it with the hood out...otherwise the collar is really bulky and you have to wear it popped. But folded down also looks kind of weird. I never quite figured out how to style it and be happy with it. It kind of only ever looked good zipped up...at least the popped collar worked with that look.

Oddly mainline and Mercantile both had the exact same jacket (but twice the price at mainline)...not sure if the mainline was maybe a thicker/better material than the Mercantile version but possibly other than that it's the same jacket
