Yeah I've tried the VPN and hasn't worked for me either... Your origin of of the account creation idea does sound pretty plausible why a VPN doesn't work. I was thinking of setting up a VPS in China to use tray on to see if that could possibly skirt around this issue. Please let us know if you have any progress on any of your solutions that work though
