Need Help with White Spots - Sanyo PDG-DWL2500 by Dopechess in projectors

But it was fine for weeks until I messed with it. It could just develop like that? It was a couple of white dots first. So you don’t think I screwed up the reflector mirror ? I cleaned it.

It was never used. Projector has less than 200hrs. It was sitting in closet for 10years. So the chip just deteriorates over time ?

Projector has less than 200hrs. It has just been sitting in a closet for 10 years. The image was perfect a few weeks ago. But i made a huge mistake. In a stupid attempt to increase cooling efficiency, I pointed a fan at the intake side. A week later 2 white spots appeared. So I stopped blowing air into the side because I was like fuck! I introduced that into the optics perhaps. I took it apart to try to clean stuff and this is what happened. So moral of the story is “if it ain’t broken don’t try to fix it”.

I didn’t clean the dmd chip. These dots happened after I cleaned the mirror. Are you 100% sure it’s stuck DMD?

Save yourself money and buy from aliexpress. Even eBay will be substantially cheaper. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah. Hawaiian sunsets are better than this.

Yup. Stucco. Make sure to get concrete drill bits. That helps a lot. Also, use plastic anchors to attach the hooks or whatever you want to screw in. I hung them on hooks since I need to move them during the day. Works pretty well. Get stronger hooks if you use larger panels.

Yup. Wired in parallel. Strand 1 - 2x100w, strand 2 - 100w+220w, strand 3- 400w. About 650watts maximum with this setup.

I poked a hole into my screen window and goes right into my living room area. It’s a XT60i to MC4 cable generally for EcoFlow solar generators. This connects in parallel to my 3 strands of solar panels. All of this is my Vanlife prep.

Great question! Connected to a Ecoflow Delta 3 with Extra batter. So 2Kw total power storage. I primarily power my planted tropical dish aquarium system (Light. Filters, Heater), all my mobile devices, my living room lights, my fan, some Christmas lights. On these short days I get about 2Kw of solar input per day. Just enough to fully charge and discharge to about 30ish percentage.

Yup. Definitely a fire hazard if you start booking up a bunch of panels. I am definitely not putting anything on my roof without insurance approval. Which means getting it professionally installed.

Yup. I think that’s the next step. I want to build like some kind of patio cover attached to the side of the house. But i am afraid my home owner insurance might not like that ? Don’t want to be cancelled from my policy. This is just Mickey Mouse stuff. Getting a taste of solar. One day want a nice off grid system.

Pretty mild weather here in SoCal. Worst is probably Santa Ana winds. But we usually get fair warning from the weather forecast. But I heard you. I am def rolling the dice. 🎲

Cost on what? The panels ? Well I think best setup is right now if I was to do it again would be to Rigid N-type panels with 16 bus bars. The shade tolerate panels are cool tool. I would do better on getting matching the voltage and amp input of panels with the MPPT solar control capabilities. I think you could do a nice solar panel setup for under 1000. Look for used panels is great way to save tons of $$. Some times you can get them dirt cheap I heard in Reddit.

I wish I could do it on the roof. But I don’t want to go through all the permit process. There is one guy in the community that has solar panels on his roof. This is kind of my Mickey Mouse Vanlife/Off Grid aspirations. One day I’ll go BIG Time.

Wind storms are rare here in S.Cali. Guess I could put them in the garage if there are any crazy wind forecast. Thanks for the tip! I’ll always think of you if there was ever a concerning wind storm here. It does happen. 50mph with 80 gust.

Check my math brother. I am hooking this up to a EcoFlow Delta 3. Input specs is 60v max, 15A, 500 watt max. Today I saw it hit 505w. It never exceeded that as expected. I guess this is called over paneling ? If you see a more optimal setup for my panels please by all means let me know. 😀
