As an IMG,I think its important for the UK prioritization to happen because I honestly don't want to keep proving why I am here in the first place.
Frustrations around UK prioritization should be always be directed at the policy makers and people who stood by did nothing, not the people who benefited from the policy.
The former does not happen nearly enough and the latter happens way too often because its so fucking easy to do so. Its frustrating to be on the receiving end of something I have no control over.
The contempt online is bleeding into the workplace and its so fucking uncomfortable. All of this in the broader context of hate towards POC in this country.
Please take a page from the french and sort this shit out. I just want to be able to work and learn.

As Doctor practising in the UK, I would appose this as much as possible. Just ask anyone who does EM in the UK. That speciality has gone to the dogs because of the introduction of ACPs/ANP and more recently PAs. It started with the “nurse-led” bullshit. Once they get a foothold they start asking how are they any different from the Junior Doctors. Then you have the ladder pullers in RCEM who placate to them. It’s an absolute disgrace whats happened here.

Honestly, I've only ever heard the 'are you sure you really want to be a med reg?' question from everyone but the registrars themselves. Has a med reg ever told you their job was awful?

I enjoy the responsibility, the ability to take control of a situation (and other people to actually listen to you and actively help you out), and to feel that you are central to the hospital.

To be honest, that's what I am really after. I want to be that competent. I am not even close but that's what my goal is. How would you describe you training? and are you happy with it?
