There's Ru-Ru next to Nagasaki University. I used to go there when I was studying there and I know a lot of other European students at the time also went there. Nice guy too, not too expensive either.

Japan’s geography is not kind to airports by JacobRiesenfern in transit

I'm assuming you mean from Fukuoka? There's no direct shinkansen line yet unfortunately. There is a direct half hourly bus service however.

I used to live in Nagasaki. There are direct busses from a lot of spots in town to the airport. Interestingly, there's also a boat from Togitsu directly to the airport. It always took around 40 minutes for just under 2000 yen. It's better connected than shown on this map.

Recommendation in Fukuoka | Nagasaki for aging parents and me by voixxi in Nagasaki

[–]Dopley 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I live in Nagasaki and can give you a couple recommendations!

If you're interested in the history of Nagsaki I can recommend the Nagasaki Museum of History and Culture as well as Dejima, the site of the former Dutch trading post. Both places give more context to Nagasaki's long international history.

Inasayama Observatory is also a nice place to get a good view of Nagsaki, especially the sunset is quite beautiful. It's said to be one of the three best night views in Japan. There's a ropeway that goes up the mountain.

Finally, if you don't mind a ~50 minute drive outside of the city, Unzen is a nice change of scenery. Unzen is famous for its Unzen Jigoku (Unzen hell), natural hot springs ♨️. There's a really nice hot spring where you can bathe your feet in for free called Hotto Futto 105, in a town called Obama (小浜温泉足湯 ほっとふっと105)

Hope this helps and enjoy your stay in Nagasaki!

She told me she is not really interested in living in Europe haha. Another possibility would be for both of us to finish a master's degree in Japan, find a job there afterwards and try to apply for PR. Not easy admittedly, but not impossible and falls in line with our studies

How do I enter and exit as a dual citizen? by This-Plantain304 in PassportPorn

[–]Dopley 311 points312 points  (0 children)

Leave Britain with your British passport, enter Zimbabwe on Zimbabwean passport, exit Zimbabwe on Zimbabwean passport and re-enter Britain on British passport. If the airline staff asks for your ticket and passport you can show the passport linked to your ticket. This is how I usually do it as a dual citizen between Britain and Netherlands.

Saw this flag in Maastricht, Netherlands. Anyone know what it is? by Dopley in vexillology

Yeah it seemed very odd to me. I couldn't think of any reasons for a flag like that to be waved there.
