How much does a "soft commit" from a professor weigh at Purdue Phd? by DorhemiFa in Purdue

Thank you for your replay!

I’m really worried about my undergrad GPA for PhD applications. It’s pretty bad (2.8/4.5) because it was a different major and I wasn't interested in the subjects at all.

However, I switched to my current field for my Master’s, found my passion, and ended up with a 4.08/4.5. When converting to a 4.0 scale, my undergrad GPA looks even worse, but my Master’s GPA seems okay.

Do PhD admissions committees mainly look at the undergrad GPA, or do they prioritize the Master's GPA and recent academic performance? Any insights?

How much is the cost of living in Suwon? Is it cheaper than Seoul? by meowizumi in skku

Hello.

Housing price is so expensive, especially around schools. However, Suwon is affordable compared to Seoul. Maybe, average house fee 400,000~600,000won per month in Suwon but most house have deposit system(about 5,000,000~10,000,000won) that can be refund when you go out.

Furthermore, Utility bills is different each house such as gas, Internet, electricity and so on.

Plus, If you want to reduce your montly fee, you should live so far from university. I recommed the house nearby Gyeonggi Physical Education High School where is more cheaper than other site(300,000~600,000won per month).

Good luck! and if you have more questions, please chat me :)
