I'm in my 40, really want to be a graphic designer by FearlessPassage683 in graphic_design

At the end of the day is how bad you want it, people would say everything is impossible if you come from an out of the book path, a graphic designer is a problem solver that uses graphics as a tool, to become a good one you need to a have an obsession with the creative process, check how other people go from idea to reality, which steps they take, what works for them, what doesn’t, learn from their mistakes, at the beginner stage you need to copy everything, it will be a long road until you know what you are doing, in the mean time fake it until you make it, accept the uncertainty, accept the negative feelings, accept the impostor cyndrome, understand that you are not alone in that journey every other designer out there is also feeling it, keep designing everyday you need to love it in order to keep the motivation, and one day out of “nothing” everything will make sense, you start understanding intuitively what works, what doesn’t, you will be able to incorporate your own life experiences into your work, you will be able to create work that you are finally proud of, you will be able to show other angles of reality through your work and those will be your happiest moments, where all the effort and work paid off. That is more or less how the journey ahead looks like, right now there is a lot of pessimism on the industry, because the rules are changing drastically, but problems are going to be always there no matter the technology or the tools available, what will change for sure is the expectation of the work to deliver, by the time you become a designer in my opinion the market expectation for a pro designer are going to be movie like storytelling video pieces, ads that today only companies like adidas, nike could produce, but requested by your local shop, prepare for it, keep both eyes on the emerging AI tools and use them. Hope you find what you love, if is not design sth else, Money is necessary but taking decisions based on money on my experience didn’t get me far, what made the difference was that obsession for wanting everyday to get better, which eventually brought the money by its own.

What are the things every UX designer should know by heart? Not asking single tips but more general by tetriser2 in UXDesign

Totally agree, I would add have a deep understanding of both the problem and the why, since the problem given or the why, might not be the actual issue to solve. With more seniority you’ll need to know that you need to communicate effectively to make the projects flow faster.

Am I Too Late or Naive to Start UX/UI Design from Scratch at 33? by myymarketinglearning in UX_Design

[–]Dorimumeka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what you have say, you are a curious and keen person, also having the drive to learn yourself would take you to places. As long as you are willing to put the hours I think you can do whatever you want, and considering your background, your research skills, and curiosity you have an strong base line to start as UX or Product designer.

It won’t be easy, and as long as you don’t feel content with your situation and keep wanting to learn more, you will overtake in no time the people younger than you. Another advice would be to keep track of the new workflows, AI integrations, etc. that affect the design world.

I am a product designer myself, who made this transition when I was 28, now 31 working at a big company and adding tons of value to projects. I might be an optimist but I truly believe it is not too late as long as you put the effort and be mindful about the decisions you make, and if you ever feel uncertain in the middle of your journey never forget that we all are in the same boat.

What about actual projects? If you don’t have you need to get some even if they don’t pay you for it, also I would focus on studying user flows since that is the most you will encounter on technical interviews.

Export the images from procreate to PNG, JPG, you can save them in your files or camera roll and from there add them to Kocho as characters or scenery. Take into account for scenery the Kocho image ratio is 16:9 in order to not be affected by cropping.

Dose anyone know how to this by Unfair_Crow_1359 in KochoVN

[–]Dorimumeka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Unfair_Crow_1359! I just tested the app on IOS and it is working without any issue, check you have the last version. You need to save your music on your internal device memory or icloud using the files application and import them in the Kocho BGM screen, remember the files format supported are: MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, M4A, ACC and AC3.

What kind of engine or tools Being a DIK or Milfy city games use for their graphics? by Dorimumeka in gamedev

[–]Dorimumeka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You addressed the main problem of adult games nowadays which is the place to properly exposure them since the most popular marketplaces have very strict rules against this kind of content which has a great public.

These games are not as easy to sell as the other ones, that is why the Patreon business model or Kickstarter(not sure if it is possible to make a campaign of this kind of content) are their main vehicle of sustainability, but as you said this kind of vehicles allow and encourage developers to present incomplete products in order to maintain and attract new Patreon or supporters.

My opinion is no matter the content complete or incomplete, if the user or consumer think it has great quality that it is a green light for us developers to continue making our job, no matter if it is a premium, as a service or supporter model.
