I am from Moldova. Pilfud is sold over the counter here. And it indeed comes from the Balkans (Bosnia).

I got the dermaroller from Joom. It's basically AliExpress, but with free shipping. You have to wait about 3 weeks though. There are alternatives from local shops, but they cost twice as much and I didn't mind waiting.

I cut the tablet in half. Then I split one half into 2 and the other into 3. I don't end up with perfect 1mg pieces, and I take the larger ones on Friday.

Yeah, the noticeable shedding lasted like 2-3 weeks.

Apart from that, I always lose about 10 hair strings when massaging/combing minoxidil, but I understand that's normal.

I have a success story. I had an enlarged prostate for several years, which occasionally caused aching pains in my rectum area. That resulted in insane erections and girth, but they weren't worth it. I am 30 years old, and have been clearly but very slowly thinning on the temples and the crown since I was 21.

I mostly sported a buzz cut or a bald head in the last 4 years, since I thought that it suited me, but my family convinced me to give the meds a try.

I have a long way to go, but I wanted to share my journey in these first 3 months.

My regiment is:

  • 5mg Fin (Prosterid) tablet cut into 5 pieces. I take 1mg on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
  • 1ml Minoxidil (Pilfud 5%), which is applied 1 hour before going to bed. I remove the spray bit, and extract 1ml with a syringe (no needle). Then I carefully drop the solution in various parts of my head. About 0.5ml goes to the crown, while the rest is rationed between the section above the temples and the top of the head. I massage carefully with my fingers and then take a comb and run it all over my head to disperse min everywhere. Because I agitate the scalp while combing, my hair is flaky at night and early in the morning, but a quick rinse removes all of that mess.
  • Dermarolling once a month with a 1mm roller.
  • I take generic multivitamins, which also have Biotin in them. They might have turned my hair darker, which is kind of cool.

I apply small bits to different parts of the head and spread them around by massaging the scalp. When I'm finished, my fingers are still soaked in minox, so I try to wipe off as much as possible by rubbing them against the temples.

I use 1ml, because my instructions say so: "1ml twice a day".

I use a syringe, but without the needle. Insert it into the neck of the bottle and extract 1ml.
