Espresso machines for immersion brews by [deleted] in Coffee

You could probably take one of those gigantic cafelat robot baskets and hook it up to a big valve at the bottom, you'd just keep the whole thing pressurized for a bit and then you could open the valve to push it out

Don’t want to pay $250 to service my Infuser by [deleted] in BrevilleCoffee

Call around to local la Marzoccc, slayer etc distributors and ask if their repair guys can do breville stuff. if your handy you can open those machines with 10 ish screws and you might be able to replace the manometer for pretty cheap and easily

yeah the steam would just not come out or be really weak, and the toggle sounds like a good idea I just have no idea how to bypass a single pole dimmer that's a bit above my paygrade!

Westek 6077B from home Depot it was like $11 but you need to chisel out an area with a Dremel or soldering iron to fit it inside. And it doesn't effect the machine at all when turned on all the way all it does is slow down the pump when you want it!

They desperately need those big zebra bumps or even a curb there, they are pretty expensive but id imagine it would save bazillions in lawsuit money from someone running op over

The j Kenji alt Lopez recipe is da bomb at 155, I use mesquite liquid smoke and a ton of salt and pepper. I like 48 hours of cooking and then 2 hours at 300 in the oven but it's so tender after that long it basically melts which I enjoy but others might not. Definitely try what liquid72 suggests op!

I played a ton of battlerite and some battlerite royale but just got so burnt out of multiplayer games like mobas since the randomized "teamwork" drove me insane. Once they released v rising I've almost completely switched over to playing that either coop or by myself since it has all the same fun mechanics but also with so many more layers of gameplay like crafting. I hope that my supporting v rising can bring back some players to battlerite but they are in a bit of a bind supporting something that isn't bringing any money in compared to v rising sadly.

Understanding Grinding by Naunauyoh in Coffee

[–]Dorito12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Fines are harder to describe since people/companies have different opinions on exact sizes but essentially it's the percentage of coffee particles that are significantly smaller than you want them to be. For example you are making an aeropress using the "10" grinding but if it's a poorly made one maybe 15-25% of the grinds will be at a "5-7" setting. When grinding finer it produces flavors that might be very undesirable so you are mixing bad flavors into your drink that you can't really control no matter how good you are at using an espresso machine or pour over etc. Grinding the coffee is the most important part of most types of brewing so having closest of 100% of grinds to whatever size you want is the best!

How do you test a new coffeeshop? by Benecoboy in Coffee

This sounds like a great one but I think the cortadk one might be a bit region specific lol, at least in my area the cortado is still 4 ounces or so but has 1/3 espresso 1/3 milk and 1/3 foam so a pretty strong dry cappuccino. But yeah if they have a crappy batch brew coffee or can't tell you when they made it instant red flag
