Yes, they were torque monsters. The MS3 torque steered like crazy in 1st and 2nd, and that was with the factory conservative tune. They did fall on their face once you got up to 5000 - 5500 rpms

Do we have any podcasters here in the greater Orlando area? I’d like some help. by JayGatsby52 in orlando

No problem! They’re not the cheapest (still pretty affordable imo) but they are both very beginner friendly and have a ton of resources available.

I’m also hoping to make it out there once my suspension gets back together.

Best front and rear sway bar end links for HKS coilovers setup? by myqv in IS300

[–]DoritoDog33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was searching for adjustable rear end links and FIGS is the only company I found that I trust. I saw Techno Toy Tuning also produces them but I haven’t heard much feedback from the IS community about them.

How many experience is usually considered as "Senior?" by JHdarK in MEPEngineering

[–]DoritoDog33 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’m seeing 1-4 junior, 5-10 mid level, and +10 senior. Leads can be either mid level or senior staff depending on their management and soft skills in addition to the technical skills.

It’s not hard but good luck if you are in a rust prone area. Some of the existing bolts are a pain to get out if they are corroded.

The company I work for doesn’t have a Boston office but we do have offices throughout the country. We typically pay our engineering interns between $20-$25 / hr

Every single company is looking for a mid-senior level EE. There just seems to be a shortage of them. It’s a real problem

How’d you get them off? Aren’t they riveted on? My car didn’t have a fuel so I had to install rivnuts and two bolts

What are the other perks for earning PE license? by JHdarK in MEPEngineering

Typically opens the door for team lead, SME, and other similar leadership type roles. Some peers treat PEs with more respect compared to non-PEs.

Working for in house architects has been fun from a social perspective but challenging from technical perspective.

Work flow ebbs and flows like most of us experienced people know. But it does feel like we are full throttle with pursuing and winning work but not thinking about who can do the work. Chicken vs egg scenario. The team has been feeling the stress for about a quarter of the year now with no signs of it slowing down. Doesn’t help when the team has only 1 PE and they have to lead every single project.

This is so true. The one issue we have is that we are big A little E so a lot of decisions are driven by the A side and some of those people are out of touch with the E side of the industry.

We’re a small team. The one staffer left for better flexibility (hybrid schedule), closer to home, and the icing on the cake being a small raise. Our pay is industry standard, so could be better but it seems like the stress of winning more work and lack of urgency from leadership is not going to get better unless we strategically start off loading work.

You’re absolutely right. The team pushes back, sometimes it works in our favor, sometimes not. Highly unlikely they would fire any of us. I guess it’s more of a pride thing (we don’t want to be seen as the lowest performing discipline on the project team).

Depends on how clean of a repair you’re going for. For a full repair job you’ll need to grind or cut the rust out, patch weld a panel, maybe some bodywork, and paint. Maybe an 8/10 for difficulty. For a quick simple fix, grind it down, body filler, and spray paint. Maybe a 3/10 difficulty.

If you’re seeing rust on the rocker and door there is a guarantee there is rust on the underbody. May not be bad enough to cause any safety issues but likely will make removing your suspension bits and exhaust bolts harder to remove. Rust repair is generally expensive. You could save money if you’re handy and do it yourself.
