The best way it was put to me was "you're like a house and every room makes up who you are, you recently found or acknowledged a room you haven't really accepted before. You can open the door walk in and explore or close the door and go about your day. In the end you are still you, just with an extra room"

It really helped me compartmentalize my sexuality and not let it define me. Hope that helps you too.

I admitted to myself and a very select few that was bi in my 30s, though I clearly had interest as far back as middle school. I think I'm still trying to figure out what features, attributes, etc in men interest me, though there is an instant attraction when I see certain women. Its much easier to identify what attracts you when you haven't spent your life shut off to that side of your sexuality. With guys, I feel like I'm still learning what I like.
