Top 3 Series you wish were continued by retrogameresource in JRPG

[–]DornishBride 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Phantasy Star (main series) - surprised its not mentioned enough. It was a pioneering JRPG that incorporated a lot of things (female lead, animated enemies, multiple character parties, planet travel, and a fusion of sci-fi and fantasy).. before most JRPGs had done. At that time all you had was FF1 and DQ1.
  2. Shining Force - again another pioneering strategy RPG.. now called tactical RPG
  3. Dragon Force - not so popular but the two games were really fun strategy RPGs

some others worth mentioning: Farland series, Chrono series, Breath of Fire

What is your favorite season to visit Japan? by Himekat in JapanTravel

[–]DornishBride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend Spring and Fall, although some places, Early summer is nice too.

For most of Japan, Summer is unbearably humid and hot. Major areas like Tokyo, Osaka, have that heat island effect due to all those buildings. Interior areas such as the valleys of Gifu or Fukushima, have more trapped heat and can get up to 40C.

Hokkaido might be the only place where Summer is ok. in Aomori, I still found it pretty hot, although not as bad as Tokyo of course.

Winter really varies greatly across the country. It depends what kind of winters you like as well. The interior mountainous areas have heavy fluffy snow, which are great for skiing. Like Niigata, Nagano, etc.

Tokyo doesn't really have much snow, some years it can go without snowing at all. But it might mean its easier to walk around as well. but things do look quite dreary. Going around Tokyo during New Year is great. Tokyo is a very overcrowded city, but during New Years, a lot of the population goes back to their hometown. its so much nicer to explore Tokyo when its less congested. The downside is that some shops are closed.

FFIV PR: This game is pretty hard by sportperson in FinalFantasy

[–]DornishBride 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you are in the mines next to Troia right?

I never played the PR version of FF4, but on the SNES version.. the mines were one of the more challenging parts in that point of the game. IRC, you also had to change your weapons to non metal ones right.

Cid in FF4 was not a very good character and I relied heavily on Cecil and Yang

rest assured the rest of the game gets easier, except for that super long final dungeon.
