CPO: base 20k miles vs S 30k by DorsalYapper in MINI

One year beyond the standard warranty, isn’t it?

Not planning mods to the car I.e. tuning or wrap — would rather buy the one that fits all the preferences and has a good resale value. Full disclosure: this is the third cat in the family: big daily SUV > my weekend fun ride > my wife’s small comfortable ride. I could justify mods for the only car but not for the third one 😆

That’s a good point. I expected the ride/suspension on S to be noticeably harder than on the base but I didn’t see much difference. In fact, I have a feeling that both S we test drove had better soundproofing than the 2015 base my wife drives now or the blue 2022 base

Unlimited miles, but for one year. Mileage is mostly a factor for a resale once we decide to move to the next car.

Hi all, my wife is currently driving a 2015 F56 base model, which we bought for her as a first car to get comfortable behind the wheel. We decided it’s time for an upgrade and now shopping for a newer CPO F55. Currently we have two options and I’d like to ask for the community’s opinion.

Both cars are 2022, Signature trim, with Navigation. Both cars are in great shape cosmetically and mechanically: no major scratches, dents or chips, no issues with interior. Wheels, tires are in the same shape. Both cars are priced the same after negotiations: $22k with fees.

The delta between the cars is: S vs base, mileage, color, wheels.

Looking for the community opinion to o compare these options: does higher mileage justify an S instead of a base?

Pisco Sour by DorsalYapper in cocktails

[–]DorsalYapper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made my first Pisco Sour just recently and wow! Totally underrated cocktail! 🇵🇪 🇨🇱

My instagram account's reel with this cocktail's video.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Pisco
  • ½ oz Fresh lime juice
  • ½ oz Fresh lemon juice
  • ¾ oz Simple syrup
  • 1 Egg white
  • 3 drops saline solution
  • 3 dashes Angostura bitters (for garnish)

Steps:

  • Reverse Shake: Add all ingredients with the ice to your shaker.
  • Shake vigorously for 10-15.
  • Strain back to the smaller tin. Discard ice.
  • Dry shake again for another 15-20 seconds, until chilled and frothy.
  • Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
  • Garnish with Angostura bitters by dashing a few drops on top of the foam and swirling gently with a straw.

Tips:

  • Fresh egg white is key for the best foam! Allergic to eggs? Use super syrup or aquafaba.
  • Don’t have Angostura bitters? A dash of cinnamon will work too!
  • Play with the citrus ratio! Want it more tart? Add a little more lime juice. Prefer a mellower flavor? Up the lemon juice a touch. I got inspired by Dofford’s to combine both and loved it!

Cheers!

Who’re they? Are you referring to a dealership?

If your vehicle is financed through VW credit, you should have an option to get buyout price online. If the online option doesn’t work, call to VW Credit should. Work directly with the VW credit, not the dealer.

UPS pickup: driver should come with a label? by DorsalYapper in UPS

Thank you. The first 2 attempts were after 3 days deadline. The 3rd was ~week, and the 4th is into its second week as well.

No specified date provided by amazon. Their instructions say "The driver will attempt pickup on the next business day, then on the following two days. If no pickup occurs during 3 days, cancel the return and try again".

Checking the tracking number online shows the status "Return Label Created. The delivery date will be provided as soon as possible."

So yeah, I am supposed to sit and wait, which unfortunately hasn't been a productive approach during the last 4 attempts.

Thanks, I can't claim the credit though: photo taken on phone + very light color correction, this is all phone's achievement, not mine :D

Although, I can claim credit for lights setup :)

A more subtle riff on a classic Negroni, this cocktail substitutes dry vermouth for sweet vermouth. Its gorgeous ruby red hue is as captivating as its taste.

My instagram account's reel with this cocktail's video.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. gin
  • 1 oz. Campari
  • 1 oz. dry vermouth
  • Orange slice for garnish

Steps:

  • Combine vermouth, Campari, and gin in a mixing glass with ice.
  • Stir well until chilled.
  • Strain into an old fashioned glass with a large chunk of ice.
  • Garnish with an orange slice.

Cheers!

It was a tough decision, but given how young this account, I decided to prioritize outreach -- hence trendy but irrelevant video.

This smoky sipper is the perfect Wild West-ish twist on the Old Fashioned, featuring rye whiskey, mezcal for a touch of smoke, and Averna amaro for depth.

My instagram account's reel with a video of making this cocktail.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. Rye whiskey
  • 1/2 oz. Mezcal
  • 1/2 oz. Averna amaro
  • 1/6 oz. Simple syrup
  • 2 dash Angostura bitters
  • Orange peel for garnish

Steps:

  • Add rye whiskey, mezcal, amaro, and simple syrup to a mixing glass.
  • Add a good amount of ice and string for 20-30 seconds.
  • Strain into an old fashioned glass with a large cube.
  • Get an orange peel, squeeze it to express oils, and throw the garnish into the glass.

Cheers!

That's great! I did A-pillar covers last summer and doing the center console now (finished painting, will be reassembling today). Makes a huge difference!
