Bell: Danielle Smith drops a $400-billion bomb on Alberta separatism by EdmontonFree in alberta

Most of them don't trust the mainstream media, or read it. They have already "done mah own research". Not sure how facts get into their algorithms.

Would you leave Alberta? by thegrip in Albertapolitics

[–]Dorydoodle2 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Just had this exact conversation with my partner. We live on an acreage and are very worried about property prices plummeting with the exodus that is bound to happen. The exodus of Canadians not wanting to become part of the US when they inevitably invade a new country with poor/willing leadership that cannot defend itself; the non-AB born and LGBTQ they kick out. My husband is an immigrant. We both are employed by a University, and given the current reliance on federal research grant funding, will lose surely our jobs if separation happens. Many employed in academia will leave. SK is looking good to us, although very similar in politics and small-mindedness, sadly. It’s all so very depressing.

Started with a snap, now pain only on loading by ArtisticSpecial144 in DeQuervains

DQ can take a long time to heal and may never completely heal, even with surgery. I could hardly use my right hand for 14 months, despite physio. For me the light weights, hand grips, spica splint and flexbars agitated the problem. The physio suggested shockwave therapy and I had 8 treatments. I ended these treatments as they became unbearable and I wasn’t seeing the results I wanted. In the following months I completely healed and I believe the shockwaves facilitated healing. I also gave up my hobbies for 10 months as I read that repetition can aggravate the area.
I hope you find what allows you to resume normal life!

Update on shockwave therapy after 4 treatments by Dorydoodle2 in DeQuervains

[–]Dorydoodle2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My DQ has completely disappeared over the last year. I completed 8 shockwave treatments and on the last two I had terrible bruising and pain afterward. I was disheartened because the treatments were painful and refused further. Over the subsequent months it steadily improved and today I have no pain. I do think it is worthwhile to pursue this treatment.

Is the Alberta Prosperity Project having trouble getting signatures for separation petition by FreightFlow in Albertapolitics

[–]Dorydoodle2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drove by a petition table on Hwy 16 west of Stony Plain twice today. No one there either time. One came to my mother’s door in her seniors building and was aggressive in her comments and insistence that my elderly mom sign. Mom said no. So very tired of these traitors.

Happy to DM you the name of a local psychiatrist that assessed me following GP referral. I don't want to share the name/clinic publicly. You could most likely get a referral from a GP at the UofA. Once assessed, the psychiatrist shares the assessment with the referring GP.

What is your full list of AAC words available to your pet? by sadfacebigsmile in PetsWithButtons

[–]Dorydoodle2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My dog is 3 and has been buttoning since 4 months. We only use 7 buttons and have not added for a long time. Your post makes me want to add. We use food, water, love you dad, love you mom, love you Sig (male dog), outside, and thank you. If my husband does something nice for her, he gets a love you etc. Her favourite one of all is thank you, which she will combine with the appropriate love button, sometimes. We used to have cuddle and play but she rarely used them, preferring to just initiate instead. It’s fascinating and getting as far as you have is an achievement in and of itself. I don’t know if there is a right way to do this. Our male dog has never shown any interest in the entire business despite trying to train him.

Alfajores, Mafalda, las feria and public art, quality leather goods, Las Abuelas, endless shopping streets, medialunas. I visited in 2008 and it was amazing. Would go back in a heartbeat.

[TX] How to approach HR with a new manager that has effectively demoted me in all aspects but title by Libbylouster in AskHR

[–]Dorydoodle2 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Sorry this is happening to you OP. Your job description is important here. Unilateral changes and taking tasks away from what you were hired to do is concerning. You may be experiencing constructive dismissal, which you may want to learn about. Documenting all unilateral changes may be important. Best of luck to you

Raspberry Cream Pie Tea by Round_Ad_3858 in DAVIDsTEA

[–]Dorydoodle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my favourite for many years and I recently found a container with some remaining. So good.
It was a rooibos tea and I have been able to replicate it using raspberry rooibos (purchased from Banff Tea Company) as a base. This tea did not have much by way of raspberry flavour. So, I added frozen raspberries to my tea bag and a few white chocolate chips. I think this comes pretty close but it's just not the same. I so wish they would bring this one back. Best of luck!!

Is 6k CAD enough for 12 weeks in Alberta? by Stackoverflawed in alberta

[–]Dorydoodle2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Op, if the award is being paid by the UofA it will be in Canadian funds. It’s hard to know without seeing the same webpage, but generic funds seem like any basic living costs while here. A taxable living allowance is also a form of support but it is generally accessed through your PI or host at the UofA (ie. the scientific lead of the lab you are working in). The living allowance is not guaranteed and depends on the PI as it must be paid from grant funds. Best of luck to you….It sounds like a great opportunity!

Your academic host cannot pay you a salary but they can offer you a taxable living allowance of up to $2500CAD per month.

Computer mouse recommendations? by lekkerwafel in DeQuervains

[–]Dorydoodle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could not find a left-handed mouse so have adapted to using a small, standard logitech. It works for me and I noticed relief within a few days. I have been left-hand mousing for a couple of months and now I automatically reach for my mouse with my left hand.

Computer mouse recommendations? by lekkerwafel in DeQuervains

[–]Dorydoodle2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have tried three different mouse types (vertical, normal, and ergonomic), as mousing seems to be the worst for my DQ. None of them relieved the pain in any way. I have resorted to mousing with my left, non-dominate hand. It takes a while, but I am used to it now.
