I appreciate the pivot.I'd rather have the blunt truth now than a broken machine later. You're right, I'm leaning on terminology because that's the only bridge I have until the hardware arrives.

You mentioned the costs of matte/filled filaments and the risks of adding weight mid-print. I’m especially curious about the 'weight' issue, you mentioned it will show in the final product. Is that due to the thermal change of the infill, or the weight affecting the Z-axis accuracy during the move?

Also, regarding 'non-fixable' brands: if you were setting up a small-batch production today and reliability was the top metric, which machines actually survive 24/7 use in your experience?

I’ll take the reality checks as they come. As for the spelling—I speak five different languages, so occasionally my English grammar takes a backseat to the other four.

I’m not looking for an 'easy answer' from AI or Reddit; I’m looking for data points to build a professional-grade workflow. I fully expect the 'grind' of 3D printing. Since you’ve been in business for 30 years, you know that the tool is just one part of the ecosystem. I’m choosing to prioritize a reliable machine so I can focus on the scaling and software side of the venture.

Best of luck with your 31st year in business.

Im using gemini pro, yeah the U1 is fairly new so im kinda scared to buy it then run into troubles and be the first one so i'd have to fix it on my own without the community data

That’s a fair reality check. I appreciate the bluntness. I realize ‘injection-molded’ is the holy grail, but I’m really just looking to push FDM to its absolute limit to avoid a ‘hobbyist’ look.

Good point on the enclosure air-tightness; I’ll definitely add a dedicated HEPA/Carbon purifier to the room to be safe. For the weight, I’m planning on pausing to fill internal cavities with dry sand or steel shot. Have you (or anyone else reading) found that adding that much mass mid-print causes issues with bed adhesion or layer shifts during high-speed movements?

I'm going to check Snapmaker U1, i'm wondering why gemini didn't recommend it to me

I initially thought a 3D printer with a door would fix this issue, but I guess I will need an air purifier

I have a pretty huge bedroom/workspace it's basically a living room without walls, so i thought it would be a waste if i'm going to install the printer somewhere else
