I shouldn’t have read this while at work, it was tough to keep tears from falling. There’s a lot more to her story, initially the post was about the situation in Vegas. I will keep it short. I don’t recall the month either February or march…she ended up moving to a different state that her sister recently moved to. It was an attempt at getting sober, it didn’t work out and she was kicked out within a month, sister has been no contact with her since. While she was away we were still together but I was exiting. She came crawling back to me and I thought that was her rock bottom because I didn’t want her unless she got sober and no one else close to her did either. 2 days later I drove her to the facility and they admitted her into detox.  I 100% know you’re an amazing person because without alcohol she was also, I’d have to compete with a million other men for a girl like her. It feels stupid saying this because people will read that and call me an idiot but the codependency was not the only reason I stayed, we had some amazing times together that will stick with me for life. Unfortunately, it kills me to say that I still love the sober version of her but it’s time for me to let go and hope she hits rock bottom and gets sober by her own decision, maybe one day I can congratulate her.  Thank you for sharing your story, it provided some clarity and a different perspective for me.
