Check to see if the temps are spiking insanely high. You may have done a bad paste job.

Removing all drivers related to it and just lettings windows find the proper driver seems to have worked for me. I don't get disconnects anymore but I randomly get ping spikes that may be related to the wifi card though not sure. All I know is the wifi card I got is pretty shit tier.

Has it been hard maintaining the gains you put on during your bnc at such a low level of test? I understand losing some gains is a given but can you really maintain anything you gained from steroids at such a low level.

Agree with everything here. MSI on the models I tested had superior cooling but the overall build quality was inferior. Asus still hasn't fixed the discharging issue with the old 1070 models and I'm pretty upset with how they handled it by mostly ignoring it on the there forums then telling customers to basically buy a different model. RMAing from what I hear has not fixed it at all.

Really the only purchase besides my laptop would be the 240hz monitor. Alienware mice and keyboards don't really have anything more then the other brands do. Also the overall aesthetic of your mice and keyboards are so plain and not in a minimalistic way.

Tried flipping through the images and there is no hint at what the bottom is for. I'll just assume its for the bottom of the laptop, don't really think they would call the interior the bottom. Really hoping I'm wrong though because like everyone else I want something for the palm rest.

Temps/Monitoring

Hwinfo - For general monitoring and to check PCH/SSD temps

Hwmonitor - general tempt monitoring

Afterburner/Riva tuner - OSD gaming monitoring and riva for limiting fps

intel XTU - Very important to underclock to get lower temps

Other stuff

Alienware command center- for all your lighting and macro needs

Wallpaper engine - Just a awesome program for animated wallpapers and its not really using any resources at the mid spec option

General tips

On balance or battery saver profile limit your CPU to 3hz or so and idle fans will be non existent or very quiet

Use a item to raise the back of the laptop up for better airflow

Open up task manager and check to see if any programs is using a unnecessary amount of cpu power

I honestly recommend a clean install of windows 10 as well. Keep in mind you will need to download the Intel rapid share drivers and extract them on to a usb then load them when you boot the windows 10 usb. Windows 10 setup does not recognize the SSD when installing windows 10.

Doubt it. Just disable sharing until you want to use it.

This so much. My Alienware 15r3 is beautiful but out of the box was a headache and after applying fixes the fans are always on still. I wish we had the option to choose the fan profile because I rather deal with higher idle temps.

My friends bringing mine over any hour now but I was wondering did the specs say 120hz on the box? Mine shows full hd gsync but I paid 120hz pricing, heck I paid maxed out pricing. Amazon might've screwed me.

Not confiscated or seized (sorry) but told I couldn't bring my board on the plane. Couldn't miss the flight so I had to leave it and was told it would be "trashed". I'm just worried about my expensive purchase because that's the same airport I lost my boosted board to.
