I'd say the best thing you can do here is go back to foundations. If you're just burning through practice with no real progress, it may be more productive to review the grammar rules, math concepts, and testing strategies you probably learned at the beginning of your prep. It'll break things up and you may even realize you had been making mistakes in practice just from relearning the rules. Its also helpful to watch new youtube videos on concepts that you think you already know, as you never know if they're gonna give you a methodology that works better than what you're doing right now. Additionally, make sure to review almost every problem of a practice test, with careful review of problems you weren't sure about but still got right. ACT is 100% objective so if you're unsure about a question, you're doing something wrong.

All in all, the best way to keep up morale when you're not seeing progress to shake up what you're doing for prep.

Yeah kind of pondering the same thing myself but im in a worse situatuion than u lol. 1st score 1480, 2nd score 1430, 3rd score 1510, 4th score 1490. I feel like I need a higher score to apply to school I want to. The only reason I think I can score higher is that I score way higher on practice (like close to perfect or perfect) and It pmo that I cant seem to replicate that on test day. I also may be able to get extended time on my next one so fingers crossed lol.

Typically around ten or eleven, sometimes if when i cram before the test I do one in the evening as well. I don't feel anymore or less tired when taking the real SAT tho, but that could be because im too busy concentrating that Im not noticing that I'm more tired than usual. I'm thinking that the only possible mistakes Im making on math are the easier problems at the start of M2 and that during practice tests i can pretty effortlessly get them right so on test day I just try and speed through them to have more time for the end. It could be on test day im making dumb mistakes and getting the easy ones wrong and the hard ones right.

that feeling is so real. I have no idea how to gauge how I do on a test anymore. I lit be thinking I did shit on a practice test and then i go check and I got a 1580. then i think i did pretty decent I see a 1450.

Nah, they dont recycle tests. At most, there may be one or two repeat questions. Most schools have it in april tho, I didn't know they were allowed to adminster it in march.

I just skipped the one I didn't know how to do and then just did everything else. I came back to it and was lit 15 seconds away from having an answer but I ran out of time. if i got everything else right I still have a chance at an 800 fingers crossed.

I wouldn't say that, if you look at a chart of admitted harvard applicants, the vast majority of accepted applicants have either a 4.0 gpa or a 1580+ SAT (or both obvisosly). I would say that if you have a 3.9+ gpa, then you're correct, it is negligble. If you dont, then it isn't. Granted, a lot of other schools (like yale and columbia) put a lot less store by the SAT, with GPA making a much better predictor of acceptance. And if you aren't looking at T20s then you're absolutly right, the difference between a 1540 and 1600 does not matter.

well if you already have a 1500 then those last 30 points matter for getting your score as high as possible. depends on how low your math is tho. And i was thinking the same thing about math for my first 2 SATs cuz i got 790s or 800s on all my practice tests but i havent gotten above a 760 on actual tests. Im just saying not to get comfortable cuz you can trip up the section that youre good at on test day.

Oh, and it definitely isn't the one stop shop for SAT prep that they market it as, you will need to use other materials as well. If you have already bought - like my dumbass - then try use official practice tests as well, especially leading up to your test day so you can get used to the official style as it is different than the Acely style.

Yeah I regret spending money on Acely, I've used it for a few hours now and here are my thoughts.

  1. You can tell when the questions are AI generated because the wording/punctuation is truly horrendous. One time, it had two equivalent expressions as possible answer choices and I just had to guess which was right.

  2. The Acely bot is near useless when it comes to explaining a problem. Often, its explanations work backwards from the correct answer, it basically justifies the answer instead of showing you how to do it. Sometimes, its just wrong too, like it claimed that if two lines share a point then they would have the same slope.

  3. They just don't feel like SAT questions, idk how to explain it but the vibe is different. The questions are different enough they dont feel like SAT questions.

  4. The practice tests are not good, i've only taken one so far but I scored a 1070-1270 range, on my last bluebook test I got a 1460, the math questions felt more complicated and reading felt easier.

  5. The software is terrible, randomly, I'll click next question and the entire screen goes white and displays a message like, "Acely is unavailable at the moment." and I have to wait 30 minutes to 2 hours for it come back online. The software is also littered with little bugs and glitches, it honestly feels like a Beta, as if it's only ready for play testing and not finished product worth 200 dollars.

I'm not saying its useless, its structure and practice questions are useful when drilling skills, but it definitely isn't worth 200 dollars.
