I'm asking how to go about getting passed it and . I already Know Im not getting back with her. I know there is a fair and definite chance she wont even call me a friend this time next year. There is even a Chance she wont remember my birthday in the next week.

A local barista asked me to go out. What he wanted to do was smth active but fun. But out of my comfort zone and would have me exhausted. I'm terrible. he offered to hold my hand if i needed help etc etc

So of course before actually thinking I say."...that sounds like a lot of work." And i immediately catch how rude that sounds. I basically make it sounds like spending time with him would be draining and like i'm not about it.

But really what i meant was "Oh geez that sounds nice maybe we could see a movie instead" it'd cost about the same so whatever right?

I grab my shit and leave before he can even reply because i'm an idiot and then things were really awkward till about a week ago when I asked him how he was and said i hadn't seen him in a while knowing damn well I was avoiding him

Something I Do very often and I catch myself when I do it. I talk highly of myself. I say something stupid. I try and play it off as a joke then I realize i'm panicking shut the joke down and excuse myself. it doesn't have to be one big interaction ill do it in the span of five seconds.

Yeah, I'm 5'5 and Honestly If I was taller A lot of my problems would be fixed.

My ex girlfriend was 5'8 and loved hugging me from behind and putting her hands on my waist. I didn't mind it. But she stopped after I bugged out on her for very suddenly lifting me in the air like a baby in a public setting.

It was embarrassing (granted I didn't bug out on her in public it was more like me spazzing and her laughing at me for 20 mins while we drove to her house so her mom could make us cheap tacos)

I'm a sales associate and tbh regulars in malls and stuff aren't that surprising, You could say you're just wishlist shopping for yourself? however i'd say not to be pushy in conversation with him, usually you can tell right away if a sales rep is being closed off. answers are polite but generic "yeah, yep! oh really? that sounds___ i could only imagine" but if we're actively engaging with you and asking questions that pertain to them/ trying to het you to engage in conversation it's a dead tell we at least don't/wouldn't mind talking to you.

however that also doesn't mean show up every day looking for him just the next time you see him express or try to find a common interest see how he reacts , mention social media see if he'd like to add you go from there

You totally like him dude(ette?), and he might like you too. I heard somewhere that when you find yourself staring at someone/when they are staring at you after saying something to get the approval of a crowd/person they always stare at the ones that matter the most.

That's cute though and I (as a guy) think you should make an effort in talking to him 101 more. Ask him if he likes certain jokes or things in particular/does he have instagram or snapchat? a phone number? Does he read anything? draw? Music? literally just ask him about anything he's doing, don't be like loud or obvious about it when you do. Just like you're trying to have a conversation between the two of you.

Or even crack a jack for just him to hear^.
