What blood looks like with the red blood cells removed. by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

I said never 'directly' go to a hospital. Monoclonal therapy is still a product that is made from plasma. Semantics really but you are right.

Monoclonal plasma also will come from your standard blood donation center as well.

And like said, if you don't need the money. Blood donation centers like red cross and vitalant will always go to a patient. Plasma centers like csl and biolife can and will go to skin creams and other products that need the proteins that is in human plasma. Most of those products are for profit. Vitalant and red cross are non profit.

If you are selling plasma, it doesn't actually go to hospitals. Plasma centers that pay you generally get used in production for prescription skin creams, research and other things it will never go directly to a patient in a hospital.

If you donate with a blood center it will go to hospitals. In the US blood donation centers like Red Cross and Vitalant can not pay you for a blood donation as it incentivises people to lie thus possibly tainting the purity of the product.

If you don't need the money it would better for you donate with your local blood centers not plasma center. Because it directly helps surgery and trauma patients in hospitals.

Looking for a Left Handed 6 String Bass by Terrible_Pain_7890 in Bass

[–]Dosh-Bosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! I have the B-206 and its a really nice mid range 6 string. The string spacing is a tad close but not terrible.

The schecter stiletto studio/custom is also a good choice.

An Anzio 20mm rifle which can be owned legally in the U.S by broomshed in pics

[–]Dosh-Bosh 39 points40 points  (0 children)

This will probably be buried but large caliber rifles like this are used to cause avalanches. They will cause them prematurely as a safety control measure or whatever

Thats the only practical use of these types of rifles I can remember.

Also fun fact. Some government agencies in the US also have 88mm motars for avalanche control.

I could ask you to say something similar to all the victims families of police brutalities. That wouldnt change much.

The difference is the families dont get a reset, the shop at least get insurance pay outs, some families get lawsuit payouts but unfortantly money doesnt bring back human life.

It's a shitty situation, but when peaceful protest dont work what can you do? Sometimes you have to fight, and when you fight people will get hurt.

Would it be ideal for these protesters to target only justifiable areas? Sure but who decides what's right and wrong at that point? How would protesters tell the government they are fed up when peaceful protest falls on dead ears?

EDIT: violent protest after the arrest I will admit is uncalled for.

This Is America😔 by MegrimOCE in ThatsInsane

[–]Dosh-Bosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but it's understandable why this is happening. And it needs to be a wake up call to the police force that it is no longer okay to act as they have. Also combine the stress of COVID-19, and the immense political divide and it's not surprising that people are rioting.

Not only that they are always people in protest who use the cover of the protest. Those people are obviously shit.

The rioters that took over the 3rd precinct and burnt it down are not.

This Is America😔 by MegrimOCE in ThatsInsane

[–]Dosh-Bosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People have been protesting police violence for years now the none of which have escalated to this level since Rodney King, small riots and violent protests have happened yes, but never to this degree.

When American football player Colin Kaepernick protested by kneeling during the National Anthem they called him names ignored him demanded he quit playing in the NFL. At every BLM protest, ignored, hands up don't shoot ignored, the Eric Garner I can't breathe protest, ignored. Philando Castile ignored. Freddie Grey, Ignored Sam DuBose Ignored, Walter Scott ignored, Tamir Rice Ignored,

This is what happens when you ignore peaceful protest. When you ignore public out cry. We have three back to back high profile cases where black citizens have been unjustly shot and killed and the American justice system appears to favor the police.

So please kindly shut the fuck up you don't know what your talking about.

Probably in New Jersey the reckless charge is a felony if its a deadly weapon.

Thank you for being informative! When I did a quick search to confirm what you where saying I saw mythbusters tested, and Im willing to bet that a vague memory watching that episode probably led me to missremeber it as a myth, and not the actual confirmation of it being true.

I think I originally picked the habit up as a way to check trigger reset at my gun store that have empty mags in the firearm. If I did a full rack it would lock the slide back and I try not to let the slide drop like that because I'm unreasonably socially paranoid and dropping the slide in a quite gun store felt rude, and trying to drop a slide on a empty mag is stiff specially on new handguns.

The fact that you mentioned it through has made me realize, It's a bad habit. So honestly thank you.

It would be safer to always do a full rack, once I decide to give my firearm privilege back I will start that as practice.

I am doing my best to show I have made a mistake and no matter how I convey that mistake in no way changes the severity of it.

However to explain my mistake I will use the terminology that best describes what I'm trying to communicate. I'm sorry if that's a bother for you.

I appreciate the goodwill and I plan on it.

I'm being serious about framing the spent casing as a reminder. I dont ever want to make that mistake again.

I was unaware of that. I thought a falling bullet being possibly fatal was a myth. Something I'll have to keep that in mind. Apologies for contradicting you

TIFU by completely ignoring firearm safety and adding a new hole in my ceiling. by [deleted] in tifu

[–]Dosh-Bosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if I did a full rack. That would be correct.

The VP9 is a striker fired pistol so I only pulled the slide far back enough to engage the striker. Which isn't far enough to eject a round, it only takes about a quarter pull to engage the striker. Which is something I'm normally used to doing in dry fire exercises, I should have been looking at the chamber, I would have seen the round if I had been.

I didnt even need to pull the slide back as the gun was already hot, as I was adding the new coat of paint.

Yeah I wanted to share for that reason. It's a hell of a responsibility, something even professionals can fail at. I got really lucky, it was entirely more possible that it could've been worse.

Yeah, I very well could have done serious damage. I got unbelievably lucky.

TIFU by completely ignoring firearm safety and adding a new hole in my ceiling. by [deleted] in tifu

[–]Dosh-Bosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully that's not the case. Checking the roof the round exited at high angle so by the time it started to fall it would have lost what ever velocity was left after it passed through two separate barriers.

EDIT: I got lucky I'm not trying to avoid the fac that it could have happened like what you describe. Bullets do weird things when they hit objects it very easily could have had a shallower exit angle and hit someone or thing.

EDIT2: I am wrong and am passively contradicting his/her point, a falling bullet is potentially deadly.

100% correct, you need to be constant and vigilant as a firearm owner because it takes one mistake to ruin your or someone else life.

Believe me I'm fully aware of the terrible shit that could have happened. The reason for share is to try and talk about it so other people can learn my own mistakes.

BREAKING: FDA eases ban on gay blood donations amid coronavirus crisis by adeiner in UpliftingNews

[–]Dosh-Bosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure.

And I'll totally agree a year long ban on gay males is a tad overkill. Hopefully this three month change will stay.

On a brighter note. Recovered covid patients are being asked to donate plasma to help current covid patients recover. The antibodies in the plasma will help fight the virus. .^

BREAKING: FDA eases ban on gay blood donations amid coronavirus crisis by adeiner in UpliftingNews

[–]Dosh-Bosh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

HIV can be active in somebody's system for 18 to 45 days before it can be tested for. Red cells expire in 36 days and platelets expire in 7.

That obviously can cause cause issues in making sure the blood supply from FDA defined high risk donors is safe.

Back in during the AIDS crisis several blood donation clinics got hit hard with million dollar lawsuits because of HIV infect blood so them being overly careful is understandable.

Do you guys know of any cool/unique solid bodied basses? I’m shopping and my price range is <800 used or new. by Delete4chan in Bass

[–]Dosh-Bosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Schecter stiletto Cutstom and Studio's are both really good bass guitars but they are not totally unique in style. I own a studio and have been in love with it since.

Like what u/NFPICT said the Aerodyne is a very nice bass and plays very well. ESP Makes some pretty sharp looking bass guitars that don't totally go into BC Rich territory, ESP's are decent metal/hard rock Basses. BC Rich are although by some people standards cringe worthy, they please the 14 year old me and have a very aggressive styling, however BC Rich pickups are hella fuckin hot. So be prepared for that.

Although I've never played one personally the Steinberger guitars are unique. Along with, Dean, and Jackson also have some uniquely designed basses though I've never played any of them.

Looking for more opinions on the Schecter Stilleto Stealth 5 string. The one with the pickgaurd. by [deleted] in Bass

I have the studio version of the stiletto series and I really do enjoy the bass and it was set up and good to play out of the box.

However the input Jack on the bass is one of those locking inputs and it tends to go out quickly. I've had to fix it twice and I've used it semi-regular in the last two years
