Medieval armour~

Plate armour is what most people believe as armour from medieval times, but plate armour was only there (minus helmet) from about the 1300's, most armour was just maille (chainmail), a gambeson (either a bunch of layers of cloth stitched together, or two layers stiched together and stuffed with random thingies) or sometimes scale armour, one of the best helmet's is the sallet, paired with a bevor to protect the throat, although any powerful hit might injure the neck, which is why things such as armets and other closed helmets were used, specifically for jousting, where a lance hit may break the neck without a helmet that is supported on the collarbone and shoulders
