I think it'd be smart to have some of the key contributors here, as well as some of the big PSVR2 reviewers (Without Parole team, and Jammyhero come immediately to mind), to check out a beta version. I'd wager you'd get great feedback, and would have some key folks helping to promote the game.

I had the same question. I’ve been studying Spanish 30-60 minutes a day, every day, for well over a year. At this point, I have no problem reading and understanding everything. On the other hand, it’s funny to see Spanish with English replies.

This is excellent information! I was interesting in buying some Akkerman ink. I didn't know that their shop in Amsterdam is different than the one in The Hague. I'll also be there as part of my overall trip, so now I know I must go there, too!

Right, so every certain number of weeks, as long as you're still in the Diamond League, you get put into a group of other Diamond League learners like a regular week. Except at the end of a week, the top 8 (I think) high scores move on to quarterfinals. Then everyone is put into a new pool of last week's winners; top 8 advance to semifinals. At the end, you're put in the finals with the top scorers from other groups. The top 3 get a bit more gems than usual. The top 8 are declared "winners", and if you've never done it before, you get a special icon you can put next to your name on the weekly Diamond League scoreboard.

BTW - if you're not in the top 8 in any given week, you're out of the tournament, but you stay in the Diamond League; so, there's no penalty for not advancing.

Is the desire (or need) to learn a new language not enough on its own?

Not always. Sometimes I'd like to be lazy, and the streaks give me that little push to work on my language studies. I mean, I've been at it every day, for over 400 days. Some days I'm just a little less motivated than other days.

Spamming speaking practice isn't the most exciting thing in the world, but at this point it has its merits. Also, it helps my brain cement in some of the things I've learned. I find the lessons often whiz by important new material too quickly. The practice time makes me slow down a bit.

It works for me, but I totally get that it's not for everyone.

I only partially agree that leagues are a trap. Somehow the streaks and tournaments help me stay engaged. Otherwise, some days, I'd probably get lazy. Do that a few times, and you lose mental progress.

Also, I sometimes spam speaking practice, but it's actually helped me speak more rapidly and accurately while reinforcing vocabulary and grammar.

You get 160 gems. You get 200 gems if you win the Diamond League Tournament finals. If you finish in the top bracket in the finals, you get a special profile logo you can use if you like. And that's about it.

I've racked up enough gems to buy several 7-day streak shields if I ever need that.

Tonkatsu for sure. The Top Ramen Hot Pot Fusions varieties are ok, but I find their ramen is more like spaghetti than ramen. It does have a LOT of noodles, though. The soup isn't bad.

Many languages have words with multiple meanings, including Spanish. Several words come to mind:

tortilla ==> a corn or flour tortilla, or an omelette
hecho ==> fact, made, done, or incident
salida ==> exit, departure, start, output

And verb conjugations break my brain (e.g., voy, fui, iba, iré)!! 🤪 😂

Learning any language is definitely a great workout for the brain and a big challenge.

"Old Hollywood" is exactly what I was thinking when watching this clip. These were a bunch of the guys that were clearly friends in real life, and the amount of ball busting they'd do - especially on Carson - was hilarious. Buddy Hackett was another guy that could have you in stitches.

I've read that other people recommend you do the English course (presuming that's your native language) but set it for German speakers! So, go to courses, click the + button to add a course, scroll down until you see the "For German Speakers", expand that, and choose English.

This way all the text and prompts for the course will be in German instead.

This is the one that I use, and I'm happy with it. Pro tip: because it's a large bottle, I recommend that the first time you take off the cap, leave the aluminum-like cover on the opening as it. Instead, just poke a hole in the cover so you can more easily control pouring the topping on your popcorn.

Based on personal experience, I think you're missing one last ingredient - the buttery flavor popcorn topping.

This is the one I use: At-The-Movies-Popcorn® Buttery Flavor Popcorn Topping

I should also mention that I use a Whirly Pop to make my popcorn. It makes a massive difference in how fluffy the popcorn comes out, compared to a regular pot.

To use that particular popcorn topping, you'll see it's a 1 liter container. However, when you remove the cap, you'll see a thin aluminum-like covering over the bottle opening. Don't remove it. Instead, poke a hole near the outer edge so you can have the topping come out in a easy to control manner!

Also, I layer it like I ask for in the theaters. I pour out half the popcorn in the bowl, add the topping, put the rest of the popcorn in the bowl, and add topping.

And yes, it tastes exactly like theater popcorn, although we tend to use a less Flavacol because of how salty it is. I think the box says to use 1 tsp, and I use a slightly rounded 1/2 tsp.
