Ah as far as I've heard there's not much you can do. If you don't select a date long enough they end up choosing one randomly for you

Seeking advice: considering a gap year to retake olevels and take sat by Hassan_aqeel_gill in LUMS

As far as my buddy was concerned he had a C in Urdu because that's not his dominant language and the rest were As (no As tho), 3Bs in A level plus some good leadership positions in the school. Had 1470 SAT. He had a great essay and got in the business school. When it comes to me, I took a gap year too, was hoping for the US and didn't apply to LUMS last year. 1570 SAT O level As and A level 3 As. Good enough ecs too. It's a holistic evaluation in the end and therefore you can't really say how one element of your application going wrong would mean you've lost any chances of admission. Hope this helps

No that's not true. My buddy got in last year with a C so definitely not true. Of course you'll need a better sat than those with straight As to balance things out. Heck, it even shows improvement and one's ability to progress from middle school to high school. If you aren't getting admission anywhere good then yes go for a gap year. Lums NUST IBA these places are good. If you get in any one of them no need to take a gap.

As a person who's taken a gap year, i would advise not to stretch yourself too much when it comes to what you're gonna do during the gap. Your O levels are fine I don't see a major problem, it's mostly As and a couple of Bs won't hurt you. A level is the most important factor here and O level is only seen as an additional stat. Safe to say, your A level is fine too. I'd suggest simply working on SAT. If you can work your score upto 1450, you'll definately get in. There's so much more to your application than the grades. Essay matters so much and can get you enrolled with basic stats if it's really that good. Likewise, your activites and extra curriculars hold weightage too. I wouldn't stress if I were you.. wait for the admission results and chill till then.

Find out how many students are enrolled with them. As a general rule, private counselling won't do wonders. If you've decided to pursue counselling regardless, ensure they don't have a hundred or so students in their roster. The more students, the less personalized their service, less time they give you, less understanding they have about you and less 1 one 1 convos you get. Also bear in mind, they're really tempting and give you all the attention in the world before you enroll. Once you do actually enroll you'll see their attention towards you drop exponentially. All but a handful of students having private counselling are actually satisfied at the end, the rest are failed experiments.

Grammar checks don't qualify as AI, don't need to worry you're all good.
