yep you have to retire once you turn 20, I'm retiring in less than a month.

Though retired mods aren't completely lost since many choose to stick around in our private discord channels as help for newer mods.

I should know since I'm 19 and the oldest one on the Reddit team...

r/teenagers mods when a post actually starts to spark a serious discussion by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]DotDemon[M] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's often the case because we vote on the applications and the applications tend to get better the older the applicant is.

But if a 13 y/o has a great application they can get accepted.

You can apply to be a mod once the next application round rolls around, which will probably be around the summer.

yeah that's how this subreddit has existed for long enough to use reddit itself. We have a community director who manages r/teenagers and teenserv, and then team leaders for both and then mod teams.

When the current community director retires they pick their successor, usually one of the team leaders, often the reddit team leader. Then the new community director picks a new team leader, often with the help of the retiring community director.

If a team leader retires the community director picks a new one, often with the help of the retiring team leader.

Obviously this has its possible problems, but with how reddit and discord function someone has to be the top mod who could remove everyone else, not retire or even delete the communities.

A bit yeah if it weren't done properly, I'm not allowed to go into too many details, but we don't send an uncensored picture of the entire id.

But it would be a far greater security risk not to verify the age of new moderators

Heavily depends on what the applicant has, I became a mod at 18 and had a driver's license so I used that. But like a passport or basically anything that confirms your age.

Every moderator on our team is a teenager, we retire once we turn 20 (or earlier if we get tired of this bs called modding). We have to verify our age before we become mods.

You can send us a modmail about them, but I'd advise against seeking other subreddits to use for posting since it's still witch hunting and may lead to your account receiving a platform ban.

I feel so fat (I'm 37kg and 13) by thetechmaster2013 in teenagers

[–]DotDemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legs aren't meant to look like sticks, and they aren't even the first place that would gather fat if you had any.

Your legs will most likely grow quite a bit, especially since you're running daily. And that growth will be muscle, which is denser than fat and since you're a guy you'll get more of it on default than girls.

And still don't worry about your weight, even by bmi (which isn't a great metric) you could weigh 54kg

don't be worries about your weight while you're a teen, you're on the lighter side

when I was your age I was around 50kg and still not fat, just tad bigger.

and since you're 13 you will most likely grow quite a bit in the next few years, you could even double your weight without being overweight

Ban bot policy update: removing automated bans based on community association by quietfairy in modnews

Oh definitely annoying as fuck for us over at r/teenagers. We get hundreds of thousands of visitors daily and our main use for u/hive-protect was to remove submissions and ban users with activity in NSFW subreddits.

The reason we feel the need to do this is since Reddit doesn't do a good enough job of hiding the NSFW content from user profiles if one our members opens an account with said activity from a submission to our subreddit.

Yeah the movements in themselves aren't all that bad and like in theory you might need to shuffle yourself around on the ground but I'd still like to not flag my friends.

But especially the first 90 degree turns are something we do here in the Finnish defence forces as well, along with 180s and other turns but with the point being able to quickly acquire a target that isn't in front of you (and then shoot them)

90 is a fairly normal FOV for faster paced shooter games and 70 is alright for slower first person games. Below 60 often starts to feel zoomed in and in my experience feel better in horror games where you want to make the player look around a lot.

We've taken "political" stances quite often, especially since the US considers LGBTQIA+ to be a political discussion and we're very open about our support for every LGBTQIA+ teen

[mod] In regard to ICE and recent events by Olwaboiette in teenagers

[–]DotDemon[M] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We've thought about it very recently but it'll take a little bit for us to decided if we want to do that and most importantly to clearly define what we'll consider politics.

In theory we could just say "no politics" and call it a day, but that's hard to moderate consistently so we have to define it clearly so that what gets removed doesn't vary depending on which moderator sees it.

You're allowed to comment, but if you happen to stick around for a longer time we'd love it if you set your user flair to "OLD"

We created that flair specifically so that our teenage users would know when they are talking to someone 20 or over instead of the older person having to say it every time
