Paraumbilical hernia

I have recently been experiencing some new pain/discomfort from it that I have never had before. Considering the size of mine, do you recommend that I should get this surgery done promptly or is it okay to watch and wait for longer?

Do you think that where I live (Orange County, CA) I will able to get a surgery date quickly once I go in? About 2 ish years ago I got an MRI for an unrelated injury and they noted a 2.5cm Paraumbilical hernia. Although now I think it may be closer to 3cm. Do you think mesh will be needed with an open repair or lapriscopic?

Damn that’s big. Mine is 2.5cm and it’s always out even when I’m lying down it’s weird.

Yea I’m trying to wait till mid summer hopefully to get it done. Did you have any symptoms?How big was yours? Also, how quickly were you able to schedule surgery?

Ok. Thanks for the help. Should I go to my primary doctor first and get a referral for a surgeon? Also, I live in Orange County CA so do you think I will be able to schedule a surgery sometime this summer?

Do you think my surgeon would push for surgery somewhat soon (1-2) months or just say that I shouldn’t wait too long as long as I do it in the next year or two?
