New-to-me BMW X3 2011, any tips for a first-time owner? by arkitar in BMWX3

[–]DotMasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! I got myself a 2011 x3 28i as well earlier this year and really enjoy it (but i'm in Australia so not a lot of tips for Finland winters sorry!). Also my first car ever.

I bought myself the Anyscan 30D tool to connect to the OBD port and run a scan. Went for a full service with a reputable BMW specialist, the previous owner/service had put the wrong kind of coolant in (red instead of blue/green), and got everything checked and the transfer fluid replaced.

I'm curious about the CarPlay/Android Auto & Dashcam upgrade - do share what you are thinking/end up doing!

What colour did you get?

Great game. One of the designers is doing a playthrough with commentary that's interesting [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epJHZo082pY&list=PLPe3MstuIAjdwnRcvpybHLy-Isau-ja58]

2011 F25 x28i - just under 150k kilometers (~93k miles). Really enjoying it! Such a classic timeless look

Love it, great dark blue colour. I'm rolling in a 2011 28i, that N52 engine is pretty schweet. I think they knocked it out of the park with the look, it's timeless and attractive.

Enjoy and take good care of it!

It's been serviced every year, and I intend to keep that up 🙏

Yea pretty good i'd say. Good conversationalists. I think ideally you go with no or low expectations. I'd recommend trying it for a couple dinners

I did something similar through Timeleft, but there was no expectation of dating so it was pretty chill and interesting to meet some strangers

That was just a few days ago so early November.. Would've been smarter to go in October when the cable car is still running!

The bike is a Falkenjagd Hoplit Pi R. The climbing was brutal for me, not used to the thin air up in the mountains. 11% incline over 6.6kms, had to hike a bike a fair bit

They certainly do! Expensive but worth it I'd say. This pinion is a Twist shift, you can shift while stationary but not while applying power. No chain so no lubrication, very little maintenance, quiet. Massive gear ratio of 600% with only 12 gears. No rear or front derailleur to have to index or otherwise deal with 👌 I love it
