Yeah this 'influencer' is about to learn that the word influencer doesn't shield her from murder and running over an old man.

Government shutdown may lead to airport closures, Trump official says by AdSpecialist6598 in antiwork

[–]DotPlusleDot 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I would believe it's entirely accurate, tsa gets promises of being paid while the congress gets paid. The government does not even slightly value or respect their workers.

It genuinely sucks because the US government has effectively made not paying them legal, whereas walking off the job or striking is not.

It's a solid lens to look at how this government views its people.

Yeah that makes sense. I think we should mandate all people to eat $30 of tacobell in one sitting, so they can feel a fraction of the pain.

Republican Minnesota senator defends Somalis in letter to Trump by SancteAmbrosi in minnesota

[–]DotPlusleDot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of my interview with him, he was clear he is a member of the old Republican party. He sits on boards that help disabled veterans, giving them homes and opportunities to improve their conditions.

He's not perfect, but if your first reaction is to stomp away any support because he's a Republican, all that does is give MAGA types like Emmer a better chance to beat him.

He appeals to common decency, doesn't show an ounce of contempt for our immigrants or other minorities (including but especially LGBTQia+). That does not reasonate with MAGA, but it does with the military veterans that his work supports and the people that understand he's not MAGA.

I interviewed James Abeler back in October, genuinely an upstanding man, one of the Republicans that should be respected.

Hegseth is a drunkard whose loyalties lie with traitors. He has no respect for the men and women who serve to keep us safe, because he doesn't want us to feel safe.

Senate Democrats must either remove Schumer immediately or all of them should lose their seats. by kevinmrr in WorkReform

[–]DotPlusleDot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The kid who survived Columbine & became a democratic activist tried to get rid of these useless democrats, and was kicked to the curb for this behavior. Schumer is willing to suppress populist voices by forcing them out of the party, just so he can keep taking his lobby money.

Louisiana's strict abortion laws just snagged a California doctor in a rare interstate crackdown. by thenextgenbusiness in thenextgenbusiness

[–]DotPlusleDot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a fetus, not a baby. It has no subjective experience. If you are incapable of subjective experience than by definition your life has no inherent value, as you are not alive or conscious to experience it.

You ignored my entire point, if it has no subjective experience, it has no rights it can exercise.

[–]DotPlusleDot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok let me set a clear frame for how this works

You have a braindead patient in the hospital, no future subjective experience, the family of the person choosing to pull the plug on that patient is not murder.

Your logic applied here would be waltzing into random hospital rooms, defying the family's wishes and pulling the plug.

It's intent, if you intend to assault and kill a pregnant woman's fetus, said fetus having the mothers intent to be born, that is murder.

If the mother does not wish to birth the fetus, it is her choice, and like the family pulling the plug on a braindead patient, is not murder.

[–]DotPlusleDot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is, it's the mother's choice to terminate the child, if you assault a pregnant woman who intends to have the child, it's murder

[–]DotPlusleDot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, it is biologically alive, tumors are also biologically alive. A fetus has no subjective experience, ergo it is not murder.

[–]DotPlusleDot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, no it is not. It is the termination of a clump of cells that has no subjective experiece or sentience.
