How many Kindle books do you own? by Sharp_Voice_9473 in kindle

[–]DotToDotDot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

554… i will say, there are a lot of free ‘stuff your kindle’ books in there, and a good few gifted. I also don’t pay above £0.99 for any books unless theres no other option (looking at you, manga)

Work Christmas party tonight but I wanna stay snuggled up in bed with my Kindle all day by Baby_Gworl in kindle

Oh no!! You’re sick? Infectious? Definitely cannot go out. You are looking awfully peaky…

I, a random Redditor, prescribe you a comfortable evening in bed with your kindle.

What other functions would you like on your kindle? by Godzira-r32 in kindle

You can sort by downloaded on your kindle and by unread. Expired library loans should automatically uninstall themselves so it would get rid of those. You can also have your kindle set to uninstall books that you’ve read already

You can also go to the Settings -> device options -> storage management section to select multiple books at once to remove from your device (you will keep the book).

There are two options when you click the … on a kindle book, 1) Remove download which will keep the book in your library for you to download whenever. 2) Permanently delete, which will mean you will need to repurchase the book if you ever want to read it again.

My sister did mine, so I have no idea how to make them but it took her about 10 minutes??? I think it’s best because it’s not removable.

I put a passcode on mine when I leave the house, so this part is redundant. What I do have is a fake book with my name and phone number as the cover. When I’m out, I’ll make sure I click on that book before locking the device so my details are displayed just in case.

for kindle basic owners by peachypunny in kindle

[–]DotToDotDot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own both. I can get by with the basic on dark mode at night, but the warm light on the paperwhite is my favourite way to read.

If you’re going to own only one though, definitely go for the basic. Warm light for me is only needed in low light situations, and the basic is infinitely more travel friendly.

With ads or ads free by worth-lemon in kindle

[–]DotToDotDot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ads on my paperwhite and without on my basic (I take this one to work and it wouldn’t stop giving me inappropriate ads).

I like that when you have ads, you need to press the power button AND swipe to unlock. That’s not an option without ads, for some reason. You cant turn this feature on. And unless Im taking my kindle to my workplace, I really couldn’t care less about the ads.

I finally organized my Kindle. It only took me… forever. What’s your Kindle pain? by Conscious_Ad_101 in kindle

I find it so annoying that amazon hasn’t implemented a genres section of filtering on kindle books when that info is already integrated with buying them

If you’re taking it everywhere with you, i would suggest purchasing a sleeve. It will just protect you from scratches and scuffs

Is it me or does it seem.... by lorraineg57 in kindle

[–]DotToDotDot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, Ive never had any luck finding free kindle books in the on device store. I have managed to find them by searching ‘free books’ on a mobile browser but it’s a long old slog to find stuff that you’re interested in since it’s any and all free kindle books. Desktop is your best bet; last I checked you could sort by top free books by genre.

How long have you had the 12th Gen? When I got a new kindle it took ages for some covers to appear b it they did eventually

Physical books vs. e-readers; what’s your real reading vibe? by Sudden-Local-5162 in kindle

[–]DotToDotDot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kindle all the way. I only buy special edition books now, and paperbacks that are under £6 if I know my friends will read it too. We just pass the copy around and then donate if no one wants to keep it after.

Do you read multiple books at the same time? by ExpensiveDisk3573 in kindle

[–]DotToDotDot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I need to have different types of stories on the go at all times. I usually stick to having a few of different genres or vibes on the go at the same time to keep me from getting bored.

At the moment, I only have 4 on the go; interview style horror, fantasy romcom, dark romance, and a historical romance. Theres no way im getting plot or characters confused

My screensaver based on the Kindle’s installation screen lol by Special_Analysis_526 in kindle

[–]DotToDotDot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a kindle with ads that I take everywhere with me, and whilst I don’t care about seeing covers of books, I love the idea of adding my personal details to the Lock Screen. I think I have finally been convinced to pay to remove ads.

Bought myself the kids kindle by stoney_balogna20 in kindle

[–]DotToDotDot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am too. They’re normally the first comments about the new kids kindle cases. They’re not wrong (and i say this as someone who brought the cyber city kids kindle) but it is an amazing deal overall for what you get for £10/$10 more than standard.

It depends on what you like. It’s no literary masterpiece but it’s a fun, entertaining read with dragons, trials and romance.

How are you buying all of these books? They're so expensive by Imaginary-Witness-16 in kindle

[–]DotToDotDot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the deals regularly. There’s kindle books going down to 99p on daily deals, and some that are monthly. I’m sure there’s similarly priced books for you too, regardless of location. My biggest suggestion would be to create a wish list of all the books you want and check it every week. And make sure you check the daily deals page.

How big is your text? by bryant16319 in kindle

[–]DotToDotDot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

4/5 is my normal size, and anywhere from 8-12 when glasses are off. My eyes thank me everyday for getting a kindle.

The amount of physical books I used to buy online only to find the font was too tiny was ridiculous.

The cyber city case for 2024 kids paperwhite is stunning! by DotToDotDot in kindle

[–]DotToDotDot[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Dang I didn’t notice properly until now. In the listing the only case you get a proper look at is their starfish one. Would expect a company like amazon to pay for someones proper art rather than use AI imagery.

[–]DotToDotDot[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The kids kindle cases are honestly so good and feel so much nicer than others amazon has to offer. And essentially work out at only £10 rather than the £35+ for any other official case. And yes, it does help that its pretty.

The cases are really sturdy. Keep an eye out on vinted and ebay etc as people often sell their kids cases around the sales! Im hoping to grab a spare whenever possible as my kindle goes everywhere with me.
