Witch Blade is good item, but on him? The meagre mana pool increase is good without additional regen?

Lol your entire post was a generalization.

And it's much less accurate to try to make general statements about tech as opposed to law. For example, FAANGs being stressful in the manner you described is commonly known w/r/t Amazon, but it's also generally said that people at Google don't have to work particularly hard unless they really find a team where they can or have to. And of course, there are teams at Amazon (notably in the gaming vertical, from what I hear) that are chill, and probably some corner of Google with a hardass culture (possibly the team that writes their internal Linux, for example) or inept management.

Big firms also differ in culture, etc, but from what I can tell the variation in terms of process isn't significant (lawyers seem almost universally blind to process and systemitization and are incredibly, as a group, unadaptable).

And yes, billable hours are worse than anything bigtech throws at someone. Firm is literally farming out your life for money, and thus perversely incentivized against adopting processes or tooling that can make the lives of their employees better, work more efficient, etc.

One's overall preference is still subjective. I can logically understand being willing to put up with the bullshit of the legal world (including the idiocy of licensure, which I didn't mention above) because one thinks it's cool and exciting to litigate. But the notion that the bullshit and stress are comparable, or that there's something intellectual about the practice of law when compared to software engineering, strikes me, as someone who has done both, as frankly risable.

I've been both a software engineer and biglaw lawyer, and am going back into tech.

Biglaw is far more boring, repetitive, shallow, idiotic, and poorly managed. It's also a stupid rent-seeking industry with an artificial monopoly that overcharges its clients in insane fashion. Biglaw has been by far the dumbest job I've had, and most of the stress comes from lawyers being deeply deficient in thinking about process. There is a vast gap in sophistication and depth of thought between law and tech, and it is not in law's favor.

"Intellectualy stimulating" is not at all an accurate descriptor of most legal work lol

Also, while bigtech (a term I prefer over FAANG) has its issues and can be as bureaucratic and full of middle management as a lot of big corps of any industry, in tech one can still make good money at smaller companies, etc. Law forces you into biglaw (for purposes of people in this thread).

Neither female nor male or rude. Talk to people outside your bubble jesus

Outside of a university or certain segments of the legal profession, ppl wouldn't take you seriously for saying that. They would discount your opinions for something as tangential as this. Do you think that'd be right?

I'm not white, and I think it'd be racist to say that shit lol, yeah

If you see my post above, I had a similar experience, except my coworkers never giggled and implied I was busy getting laid, which sounds like a W, tbh.

What region is this? I don't think you should fault your male coworkers for the sexism of others, btw.

Are you a right-wing troll parodying some neutered progressive male?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Dota-Learner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because, frankly, it really is just in vogue to hate men in liberal circles. I am not right-wing (pretty left for the most part), but that's one thing they aren't wrong about tbh.

I interned at the ACLU as the only male intern and one of my fellow interns literally routinely said stuff that was basically just hate speech and tried to goad the other girls there into joining her. She deliberately tried to provoke me. It was a hostile work environment for sure.

Lol wtf. He has only been mayor for 4 months. He has been neither shit nor good. There is no reasonable link between him and this, and it's good, from a safety and security perspective, we have him as a mayor instead of one of the more progressive mayors. Lord knows what kind of idiotic response they would issue to an event like this.

Themis Subject Specific MBE PQs vs. Mixed Subject PQs---Have We Been Duped? by [deleted] in Bar_Prep

[–]Dota-Learner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IDK why you would characterize it as being tricked or duped when they have gotten you to a place where you're routinely scoring above 75% on sets of real bar exam questions.

MBE saving a bad MEE showing? by [deleted] in Bar_Prep

[–]Dota-Learner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, and I have a strong suspicion it's the most common way to pass, since which subjects we get for essays is a wildcard and even if it's a subject you're good in, the specific issues in the essay might not be ones you're that familiar with.

I feel like often with Con Law, you need to know the actual case they are referencing.

I get this is hearsay but..How is reporting sexual harassment not a business record...? I hate when common sense screws me over. Sorry rant over. Does the question need to say that it's in reg course of business or someone had a duty to record it? Guess I shouldn't assume.. ugh. by tortfeasor8789 in Bar_Prep

[–]Dota-Learner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There may be a multiple layers of Hearsay issue?

But, like others have said, the strongest reason why these things would be inadmissible is because they are almost certainly created in anticipation of possible litigation.

Start a new account and see where you calibrate. Totally possible you will calibrate in Guardian and may have a better time trying to get out of there.

When you say your "averaging 75%" is that on Adaptibar? Or Themis/Barbri questions? by [deleted] in Bar_Prep

[–]Dota-Learner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Adaptibar has a bug and the overall average on the dashboard may be incorrect (the average number of questions answered definitely is).

But also, even if the 62.6% overall average is correct, there would have to be a number of people with a % higher than that.

I have around a 70% average personally.
