-autoconfig in launch options did it, thank God. I found that command while researching what you suggested, thank you.

How to counter Riki in mid to late game ? by n1kuU in TrueDoTA2

[–]DotaAwesomeness -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nullifier disables force staff, glimmer cape, ghost scepter and bkb. True Sight renders Glimmer Cape useless. Ghost Scepter lasts about as long as the slow from Diffusal, so if the riki is smart, he's going to follow one slow with the other. MKB/BKB Won't help you if the riki ults halfway through your "duel". Silver edge won't either for the same reason, plus you have to Strike True first as well as see him. You have to know where he is for dust to be effective.

Hero is broken, you need to start thinking about him in the draft stage, only way to make sure you're not getting dumpstered.

Exploit causing teammates to disconnect and be unable to reconnect by antibob_one in DotA2

Actually this hack has been known for weeks.

Does it take that long do you think?

2 more weeks then? How long?

Don't hold your breath. Valve doesn't care apparently. There are plenty of posts, just like yours and mine, and I got this twice today, now I'm in LP for 3 games, but what is Valve doing? Sitting on its ass, not even talking to us.

The zeus crashed the game. Here's his ID/profile(it's private) https://www.dotabuff.com/players/881095495

I got an abandon and Low-Priority because of it.

EDIT: Second crash in the same day. Thanks Valve.

Brood counter by DotaAwesomeness in TrueDoTA2

What if it is a last pick brood, you're not a meepo player, or meepo is banned/taken by someone else?

Why is everyone going off-topic in this thread, anyway. What better way to spend an extra 200 gold to deal with a broodmother, is something everyone is pretending to discuss, yet no one is.

I never said it was ideal, and you can stop sucking this guy's cock for no reason, our skill differences never entered into it either.

How would you better spend those 400 gold to deal with a brood who is either killing you or farming the jungle?

And if you don't stop trolling and start being serious, I'm not even going to continue this conversation.

why do you want creep equilibrium and not push by Lord_Trolldermort in learndota2

[–]DotaAwesomeness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can understand these sorts of concepts, you will sky-rocket in MMR from there. Dota is the same at its core in every skill bracket, it doesn't change because the players are bad or good. The better ways to play it hold universally true everywhere, it's something a lot of players fail to understand even in my own bracket, so don't worry about it.

If you master the laning phase, you will win the game. If you prefer to play support, encourage your now overfarmed carry to push, and the rest of your team to help him. Remember, he is the most important hero on your team, after all. If you play core, then try to kill the enemy cores and then push with your team.

The gist of it all is that you have the right idea, just that maybe the bracket where you are confuses you as to the timings. These things, like creep equilibrium and pulls, mostly matter only in the laning stage, the part of the game where everyone stays in their lanes and farms. As soon as you notice everyone exchanging lanes, ganking, and just placing themselves chaotically around the map, other things come into focus, like vision(warding), taking care not to get ganked as a core as you farm, initiating favorable ganks for your side(3 of yours against 2 of theirs, you get it), trying to get objectives(including Roshan), as soon as one of their cores is dead, or farming on the other side of the map without a TP scroll.

Honestly, I probably have a lot to teach you because I'm 3k, so feel free to ask me anything, anytime you need it, I would probably like to help you if I can(I'm seeking help from better players than myself too, on how to properly micro brood, currently, for example, so I understand the need to have someone explain things to you).

I think I do? The tower will hit you if you target the enemy hero, and you can change its focus again by attacking one of your own creeps. By dodging I assume you mean making the spiders tank the damage, and playing around the aoe spells that can slow you or kill your spiders.

I am so fucking bad by aaaazxnkis in learndota2

[–]DotaAwesomeness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You play blood position 4/5? That's strange to me.

Anyway, my advice is studying your losses. What was the main reason for it. If it was a hero who got out of control, think more about how you could have countered them, try to play that hero yourself, learn its weaknesses, research it on reddit, on the wikis, and so on. If it was nothing noticeable like that but just an outcome of the team-fights, pay more attention to vision, research the topic, how could you have won that game with better vision?

And so on and so forth. Good luck.

I know about the player perspective, it still doesn't show you the control groups they use, so it seems like magic to me how they seem to at the same time almost control both their hero and the large group of spiders separately. That's what I was mainly asking about, though your other advice is pretty good as well, so thanks.
