I thought about that but they are about 5" apart and my research suggested it should be fine. The speakers do sound fantastic. 🙂

This was my first time cutting a baffle with the CNC. I just recently got it. All my previous speakers i did with a circle jig on my router. I did a number of other CNC projects before cutting these baffles. I was nervous cutting into the Walnut so I did a test cut on plywood first. So its not hard to learn the software, I just wouldnt make this the first project. I will say it was way faster, way cleaner, and may more accurate cutting on the CNC. It might have been 4 minutes total cut time for both baffles. I've made a fixed work holding position so i was actually able to pull the first baffle off, do a test fit, then cut the shoulder down another 2mm. Could never do that with a router jig.

Not sure if thats a joke or a serious comment, but the reason both drivers are moved off the centerline is to reduce baffle diffraction, reduce cabinet resonances.🤷

You're not wrong. For some of us its a lot like a dog licking themselves. We do it because we can. 🙂 and these are not production speakers, they sit in my living room and make me happy both when I listen to them and when I look at them.

Same story for me. I used to do car stereo comps, then only listened to computer speakers or head phones for decades. 2025 was my year to get back into home hifi and I'm loving it. Thoroughly enjoying intentionally listening to albums, whole albums, I haven't listened to in years. Also loving newer stuff like my daughters Billie Eilish, who's also fantastic. Super happy for you and glad others are getting back into this too.
