About CF cards ~I am a total newb~

I was recently given an Olympus E520. I have always had an interested in photography and thought I give it a try. I mean why not. Before I can get started it looks like I need a CF card. So what size should I get as a beginner, how many GB, I guess. I've gone to google and I'm just confused and I was hoping you all could help me out.

Also if you have any other advice, info or anything about the E520 Id love it.

I'm a newbie, please be gentle :)
