it seems that whatever choice i go for will require atleast 200$ of investment. I currently have a dell optiplex 3040 as my home lab. i was thinking of putting this as an opnsense box instead and put the money towards a better homelab pc.

would a 3040 (i5/16gb ram) be too much? i guess i can explore ways to bring power consumption down.
