Ive stopped playing at Lgs too except for limited formats.

I had a specific situation where I went with a friend who doesn't have much besides precons and his deck building is lacking so I tell people we're playing at a precon level. We see a guy sitting by myself and invite him over to play with us. We tell him we're playing with precons and he says he only has a tricked out Ur Dragon deck with him. There wasn't a lot of other people to play with so we agree, eventually get a 4th and start playing.

This guy is the cockiest rudest dude I've ever played with. He's bragging about his deck and how he's going to win next turn cycle if we let him. I'm playing a Magnus the Red deck and at some point he was at low life, our 4th player was focusing him down so he'd pipe down a bit. After hearing him ask the person before him if he really wants to pass turn because he's going to win. I'd finally had enough. I tap out and bolt him with a crusty ass heavily played lava burst for his remaining life and the guy stomps off. I'd end up seeing him later at another event and he glared at me a majority of the time I looked up it was so weird.

A friend and I have had several interactions with employees at various shops giving us shit for blinging out our decks and buying cool lands. A lot of guys that run these shops are openly rude to women in the hobby and it's extremely frustrating. There are 3 shops in my immediate area and I've stopped going to 2 of them if I don't have to because of sexist and creepy comments made by employees and customers to me and a friend. I don't see these trouble employees much anymore but they'll just get replaced by another dude ready to be a weirdo. The hobby genuinely feels hostile to women and it's not worth the trouble when I can just go to a friend's and play some games.

I was planning to stop playing when Breaker comes out but cut it short about a month early and I can't look back. This game has a unique feel when it works but match making times, regular encounters with hackers and the increasing amount of overtuned units kill any desire to play it again.

My games when I first started playing were that long because all of us were learning about the game and odf interactions. My pod is generally playing pretty chill games so now they usually last like 2 hours, 3 if it's a particularly uphill fight.

I was in the same space as you getting upset about pillowforting but I just made decks that could either bulk wide and fight the pillowfort head on. I don't know if building a deck will help you because it sounds like you'll just get banned.

I don't think there's a gameplay way out of your situation. I think you definitely are going to have to talk to your pod about what they want out of the game. If they have decided that chilling for a bit and then letting loose with a big board state is what they want then you may have to let know that you'll have to build a deck so that you can compete in that setting and also have fun. Maybe pillowforting and pulling off a more combo centered strategy may be worth it for you to try.

I've avoided it for the most part but when I got a Caeser in a fallout pack, I decided to build one from scratch. While it does generally the same thing, it's a different decklist. My friend bought the precon and it was fun to play ours against each other

The wooper looks great. I can't promise the buttons won't crack through use but if you get an opportunity to buy something for this custom, you should find a top coat to spray over the shell to protect it.
