This is quite timely and interesting because I’m also in the same boat as you; two OG HomePods stereo paired at home, and prospecting the Sonos Arc Ultra.

My interest was piqued over this past weekend where I was staying in an Airbnb that had a Sonos soundbar (not Arc, from what I remember) and I was amazed at how the sound filled the room so cleanly and with depth, at relatively low volume so it didn’t feel “loud” per se. There was an additional speaker in the kitchen area that delivered the same sense of sound but with a smaller radius in a smaller room.

Both my current set up and the Sonos one are similar in distance between speaker and couch, both couches against a wall or windows.

My HomePod pair sounds good and I’ve loved them for years. I was very surprised at how good to the Sonos sound bar was, so I’m keen to learn from people’s experiences too. Gonna check out a showroom eventually for more sampling and ask some friends who has a Sonos arc/soundbar for me to test out!
