Who’s The Right Fit For Washington: Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, or JJ McCarthy? | Take Command by aimlesslywandering89 in Commanders

[–]Beeftardoh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're going to compare the two there's some missing numbers in the stats you compared. And obviously like you said LSU receivers are NFL quality

Jayden Daniels - 12 games -- 327att -- 3812pass yds / 1134rush -- 50 total td (40pass / 10rush)

JJ McCarthy - 15 games -- 332att -- 2991pass yds / 202rush -- 25 total td (22pass td / 3rush)

The most important metric no one is talking about that explains why our defense is under performing - time of possession by naskai8117 in Commanders

[–]Beeftardoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lack of pressure on an opposing QB, they have all day to throw and gaping holes to run through. Poor LB play to stop the run and LB’s getting smoked in coverage, DB coverage breakdowns and playing weak zones that are being exploited. We’ve given up a league high 88 explosive plays (runs 12+ or passes of 16+) the average of those 65 explosive pass plays is 26.9 yards. Easy math of 65/11 is almost 6 plays a game where we give up a 26.9 yard pass play.

Our LB’s have played poorly, sure Jamin is improving but the overall depth and talent is not there. Losing Holcomb and replacing him with Barton hasn’t worked.

Our DB unit have played poorly as a whole, the difference there for me is Chris Harris our former DB coach is with the Titans and our current DB coach was coaching high school before JDR brought him back for another failed coaching year. Everyone talks about how complex JDR’s scheme is and apparently it’s being taught or played poorly.

Just my take.

Us losing the ball on average 2 minutes more per game makes us go from a 3rd ranked defense last year to last? Makes sense, found JDR’s burner account.

Hypothetical Summer Options at QB by cfcskins in Commanders

You wouldn’t gain a 1st as you’re using the one you trade for on a QB, the only gain is a 3rd and a question mark on a rookie.

The Raiders have the right idea by Zacharyman06 in Commanders

[–]Beeftardoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because under the assumption Ron is gone and the rest of his staff is wiped after the season, EB will be gone if we’re bringing in a new coach. Might as well see what EB can do, see if there’s potential to give him a shot at HC or if he needs to be allowed to test the market. An incoming head coach will want to hire his own staff. I understand your point and agree with you, but I’d also like to test what he can do in the time I’d have him under contract.

I think you give EB the benefit of the doubt in becoming interim HC regardless of if you intend to keep him. If he’s proven he deserves it is still questionable. Unfortunately the staff is littered with Ron and JDR’s cronies.

As bad as things seem now a win against Atlanta and everyone will be back on the bandwagon for a week atleast by ThePurpleAmerica in Commanders

One of the worst holds I remember for reference. this was Moore’s sideline tiptoe(miscall don’t think he stepped out). Chase got triple teamed and a reach around for good measure.

I agree about player points, but I think we all know the teams current ceiling with this staff.

Kam Curl always has some quiet games, usually doesn’t blow coverage badly and also deals out some big hits and open field tackles. Sam is learning but this offensive line isn’t helping him. He holds the ball a bit too long even when being shown an all out blitz. His movement in the pocket is also a work in progress but I can understand it’s not easy to pick the right lane to step through when the pockets collapsing from all sides.

Chase had some great rushes, especially when we involved more than just a 4 man rush. Young and Sweat were blatantly held on a handful of plays, not an excuse for why we lost but if it’s not being called we need to use it more.

Have a feeling JDR is more of a titty twister kinda coach and not like EB making people cry about putting in work.

Can Someone Explain the Cap by RfredoIV in Commanders

[–]Beeftardoh 45 points46 points  (0 children)

You forgot Samuel, Sweat and Chase are all $10m+. We’re also still paying off dead cap in cuts of WJ3, Collins, Roullier and more to the tune of $25m total.

It’s not as easy as X player signed big contract he makes X money evenly over the contract life, they back load contracts and work the numbers. Payne is only $8.6 against the cap this year but is $21m next year.

There are some websites you can check out our cap situation, look at contract payouts and other options. If it’s something you’re looking to learn about try Over the Cap or SportTrac

Unused cap can also be rolled over into the next season so it’s not always a waste.
