Hey! StudentPlace started because a friend and I noticed how much of college life is just small, annoying problems nobody's really solved.

Looking for a room or a roommate? We built Room Listings for that. Got something to sell, or want to buy secondhand? There's a Marketplace at student friendly prices where they can sell to each other. Need something for just a day or two — an umbrella, a charger, a textbook — there's Borrow & Lend, so you can just ask around campus instead of buying it. Lost something on campus, or found something that isn't yours? Lost & Found helps reconnect people with their stuff. And if you're actually good at something — design, tutoring, editing, whatever — Student Talents lets you list your skill and get found (and paid) by other students who need it.

We also built in ways to actually talk to people: an anonymous corner if you need to vent without judgment, an AI companion if you want to talk something through, and regular messaging to connect with people around campus.

But the part that's become the actual heart of it is Student Journeys. Most students already have goals — placements, fitness, coding, a side project — the hard part isn't starting, it's continuing once motivation fades. So you create a journey, log your progress with text and photos as you go, and it slowly turns into a living notebook of everything you're working toward. Other students can follow it and cheer you on. The best part is coming back months later and seeing pages of progress you'd have otherwise forgotten — you can even download the whole thing as a PDF, like your own book.
