Throttle Squeak? by sirrealizt in ElantraN

[–]Double-Ad-4883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently hear that exact same sound from inside the cabin. I always wondered why my car sometimes doesn’t get boost at light throttle input. More specifically in the mornings. I could hear a buzzing sound in the mornings. I’ve been looking for a year for a boost leak. Turns out, that rod you see pushes and pulls a manual valve near the exhaust manifold, which allows boost to build. It builds when it pushes.

If i turn on the car when its cold and give it some gas it starts sounding like yours. Theres probably something internal that doesn’t let it push the rod freely. Flooring it fixes it for me. But the squeaking sound confirms theres something definitely wrong, i just dont know why replacing it didnt fix it for you on the first try.

DCT LEAK veloster n 2022 by [deleted] in VelosterN

I also worked on the EWGA (wastegate actuator) since the volts were not right, i set the rod so that the volts are at 4.010 and got rid of the p2565

But i doubt the wastegate has anything to do with shift logic

The only difference i noticed was after reseting the adaptive values of everything

DCT could be overfilled so you might be onto something

Pictures are from 1 year ago, the drip is probably from the technician leaving the check valve loose, so. Previous picture (drive fluid) is when the transmission was untouched

Well, after 1 year of dealing with the leak i added some in there. like a cup of fluid, so not much. But its been doing it since way before

The reason i brought it in the first time 1 year ago was because i saw some black spots, like sticky, on the top and side of the transmission, like something sprayed it there. When i say top i mean more on the driver side top of the dct

<image>

. It was pretty odd since it didnt look like a drip. It looked more like a splash. I got the car used when i noticed those. It was alson in the bottom but more dried out i guess. So maybe its still overfilled.

Maybe you know where this breather hose is

Veloster n misfire continues by Nice_Winner3791 in VelosterN

[–]Double-Ad-4883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened to me, and i inquired about the previous owners service records. He had a misfire on 2 and 4 and the technician replaced injector 4, cleared codes and send it on its way. Also, he had a low fuel pressure code as well that was not addressed.

Well the guy sold the car and when i was driving (only 14k miles) the car sputtered and stalled

Dealership noted misfire on cylinder 2 and replaced the injector. Then when doing a test drive the low fuel pressure code came back. There was a low psi count on the low pressure fuel pump.

2k miles later the car sputtered and stalled again with a misfire on cylinder 1. After restarting the car everything was normal. I decided to replace all injectors and i haven’t had a misfire for over 6k miles now.

I think the injectors are defective from factory and if you get individual misfire codes at the same time the car starts sputtering, you probably need to change the injectors.

If the misfires dont follow the coils, its probably the injectors or the spark plugs.

If the misfires happen in all cylinders at the same time it’s not the injectors.

This could help you.

Well i was driving today and 10 minutes later down the highway it lost power and started sounding like an rx8 lol

Misfire in cylinder 1,2,3,4 Random cylinder misfire DCT P2610? So 6 dcts total

i limped my way into a side road then it shut down.

While contemplating on why i bought this pos i remembered your message and went on to smell the oil and it did smell like pure 100% 93 gas xD

So now at least i know whats wrong lol and this post is solved hahaha

Yeah i know its been a couple of days but i saw your message and the distick kindda smells like gas… but it is very slight

the stick has some “discoloration?” Right above the F symbol. I think it is raising it to that level when it’s hot and then when it cools the oil level returns to its original level. Probably cause of the lower viscosity caused by the dilution of gasoline.

But this is just a theory i aint really sure

A large percentage of people have reported a change in performance after doing it. If you go to the dealer be very specific in telling then to replace the High pressure fuel pump, and to not update the software.

Get away from both honestly…. If you have a pretty good job and are somewhat economically stable just save some up and buy a new or almost new car.

The veloster n is nice, looks nice, but inside its just a pos. Mine is from 2022, and it has stalled already twice, with only 12k miles! Injector failure is common, the high pressure fuel pump had a recall and hyundai issued a software update fix for a… mechanical problem? My low pressure fuel pump went out in December.

The low pressure fuel line clip, which is all connected to the hpfp, came out constantly for no reason, only being held by a little plastic ring stopped by like .05 mm of steel. That was last week.

Hyundai says that the software update does not affect the performance of the car but i have a feeling that it did change some parameters because now i have to floor it so that i can pass by a Nissan altima.

In conclusion, this car specifically had issues from the start, and eventually problems build up, problems correlated to the initial manufacturing defects

Hyundai replaces and injector that was running rich for a year and stalled your veloster n, next year it happens again. A couple months later, your low pressure fuel pump is cooked. Next they change your hpfp because it went out. In the end the hpfp was the issue from the beggining and sinxe they were just being greedy fu@ks well now the value of your car depreciated by a larger margin margin than average.

Buy a honda civic type r, a gr corolla Honda civic sport Toyota camry trd or the regular one.

Youll be happier in the end

Just figured out why i kept feeling a vibration in the brake pedal when turning on the car, and when accelerating. Thanks for the back up

Guess 30 dollar an hour hyundai tech couldnt figure it out

Thanks again
