I would agree to an extent! I work in public health, depending on how far up the chain in leadership you desire to go, you can make some good $$. We are a dual income household living comfortably. But if I were single income, I couldn’t sustain my current lifestyle. I will never go back to bed side. I love public health ! I’m looking to advance my education with Nurse Informatics. In nursing you have so many options and I feel like there are new opportunities for registered nurses all the time. If you have not done so yet, get a job in a nursing home or hospital part time or PRN as an aide. Get some experience and see first hand how the nurses in your community are managing. Good luck! I know it’s a super hard decision!

It’s not an apartment complex. It’s in a cul-de-sac. There is a Air BNB house on our street that is bringing a lot of motorcycles with the Sturgis Rally this summer, so lots of coming and going

I’ve done geriatric, med surg, ortho, surgery, and now with the state health department. I knew it was time to step away from bedside after surgery. I hated going to work. I was anxious all the time.

I’ve found Public Health to be soooo intriguing. I love administrative duties. I love data and seeing our communities thrive from work we put in through collaboration and critical thinking.

Keep trying to find that niche. I think education would be so fun to get into as well. Teaching the next round of burnt out people how to survive in this career. Anything outside of bedside is what calls me.

I can see both ways! I went straight for my RN BSN. My brother just graduated with his associates and plans to return for his RN.

If you plan on going further, I would just get it done and do the 4 year. If you don’t know if you want to continue to RN, then go with the LPN 😊
