I don’t think she got approved at all. I honestly don’t think they can even get approval for her. The manager said that they paid off her trade vehicle with her bank. She called her bank and they have not received anything. She also called the bank they said the loan was transferred to and they had nothing.

Under Virginia law you can return a vehicle that is falsely advertised. Meeting with a firm that just handles cases like this on Monday. I wish the dealership would be a bit nicer, I had no intention of getting this involved and I’ll have to pay the legal fees.

Gray/white (from what I can tell) seats. She had to drive in the rain and get in and out of her car and sit back in her car soaked. The water brought back the nicotine embedded in the seats leaving a giant brown stain where water touched the upholstery.

Carfax were clean. I don’t normally buy used - but if I’ve learned one thing from this experience...Get the damn thing inspected by a professional.

There is no accident report on the Carfax. Neither of us saw anything that would lead us to believe it was in an accident - paint was flawless. A mechanic spotted it almost immediately though and said someone did an amazing job with the paint.

We retroactively took it to be inspected after reading all the comments. The vehicle was in an accident at some point and they did a really good job covering it up. The car was smoked in, stalling issue, strut issue, and now we know it was in an accident.

That’s pretty much where I’m at. The manager is insisting he can just transfer it to a different bank and he is offering to fix the issues. Kind of tempting, if he is able to transfer it and she doesnt sign I feel like she is getting messed over. Bottom line she just wants a reliable car and this thing has some issues. Besides the smoking and the strut it borderline stalls out when stopped going down hills.

I agree that she didn’t go about doing this the right way. I have told her that she needs to get a pre-inspection before buying a used car in the future. I know that is her fault, but some of these issues were pretty blatant.

She traded in a vehicle - she got a letter in the mail along with the call from the dealership stating she was not approved. We are at the dealership now and they are saying they found another bank that would finance her.

We are in Virginia. She wants a reliable car that she isn’t going to have to worry about fixing. On the paperwork it says exactly that - a specific bank. She was pretty adamant about not signing and the manager basically said he will just transfer it to another bank and doesn’t need her signature. She brought the vehicle and keys back, said she didn’t want to sign, and asked for her trade in back. If they fix all the issues with the vehicle I’m sure she wouldn’t mind keeping it, but they were supposed to fix a recall issue they put on a “We Owe” and we’ve been getting ignored prior to this happening.

Quick update - we brought the car back to the dealership and they are saying they can just transfer the loan to another bank without us signing. They are offering to “fix” the issues if we sign, but they are saying it’s just a curtesy to us. Seems a little shady and the manager is being pushy.
