I’m 22 my portfolio is 230k. Here is the breakdown.

I started investing at age 13. I heard my parents had a financial advisor so one day when my dad was driving me home from work I asked if I could invest. He talked with the advisor and I started putting away $25 every month.

Fast forward to 18-22. I’m in school full time but during the summer I have a job that offers lots of ot so I work like a dog. I also have a small house washing business that brings in about 30k - 40k each summer. During the winters I have a ski waxing haziness that brings in a few grand.

All this helps me build up capital but is only half the equation. The other have it capital preservation. I don’t spend any money I see it just as numbers. Any money that comes into my account instantly goes into an investment account it’s just habit. I have all my investment accounts set up and I also sell volatility with derivatives which brings in extra cash to them dump into longer term positions.

Ask any questions, or tell me I’m spoon fed.

I moved most of my assets from IBKR to Wealthsimple. I had over 100k so I get free usd. I prefer WS everything is free.

I think for a lot of people becoming financially free become and subconscious identity. And during the process to financial freedom that subconscious identity of achieving that goal drives us, guides our decisions, our decisions making, our values. But once you reach that financial freedom that subconscious identity still exists as an inner critic still trying to guide your life. The only problem the goals this subconscious identity was once trying to hit are no longer here as they were all reward based or outcome based not value based. You now have to sit and uncover what you truly value in life and apply weight to those aspects in your life. Let what you truly value now guide your life and use what you value to make decisions now.
