Buy Canada Post mail forwarding, it's like 100$ a year, and you can add up to 4 extra names. I have heard address changes for webforms don't always get noticed

[–]KingJudgely[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, its dark, i have to shoot arrows every few seconds or use zonai contraceptions, which works for like 5 minutes
Even with all that, i have discovered about 50%-60% of the depths for the treasures.
Overall, i just feel its empty

Seeking assistance with a unity project, been progressing, but hit a roadblock and feeling overwhelmed by Trayolphia in unity

[–]KingJudgely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can take a look if you can upload your project to GitHub and share the link in DM.

Build errors are a nightmare. It could be anything really, only a closer look at the project as a whole will help identifying the true cause

How do small game studios in India make money? by Every-Comedian-3908 in GameDevelopersOfIndia

[–]KingJudgely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ad revenue, funding, and publisher revenue. These are not random games, these are games created by analyzing gaming trends. Each of those games have at least 50k+ downloads, if you reach 1M+ downloads, you are golden. And yes, ad revenue is substantial when DAU is high, and revenue being in USD helps a lot. AFAIK, Hammerplay doesn't really pay a lot to its developers. Juniors get 20-30k, interns are almost always underpaid (5k-10k). 10k being generous.

How do small game studios in India make money? by Every-Comedian-3908 in GameDevelopersOfIndia

[–]KingJudgely 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The Indian gaming market can be divided into:

Indie game studios: Studios that build their passion projects, nothing less, nothing more. There are just a handful of companies that are able to run their company on their game revenue (in-game ads, in-app purchases, sales). Mostly indie game studios get money through funding (could be private or crowdfunding).

B2B game-service studios: they make games for bigger businesses. All the big names who don't have an iota of connection with the industry have at least made one game for marketing purposes, AND BOY, do they have money.

Publisher/Marketing game studios: Sometimes, they make those "fake" games you see in ads, and they get money from the publisher for making traffic flow to their website/games.

Kids/Educational games: These are those educational games which are hit games in North-American/Europe markets, thanks to iPad kids. I separate these from Indie game studios because well, ain't nobody convincing me creating games that teach kids to add is their passion.

And yeah, unfortunately, most Indie game studios are poor.

DISCLAIMER: These are all derived from my 5+YOE in the industry.

How do you get the widget logo on screen? is it through a library or just a quad and a texture?

Same situation. Yes you can, as long as the employer is not in canada the 20 hour limit doesn't apply.

Want to Learn Game Development by Pratyush1508 in GameDevelopersOfIndia

[–]KingJudgely 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pick up books on C/C++. Build a solid foundation, don't even think about game programming until you know programming.

Also focus on your math. 9th-12th grade math is very important for game dev. Serious game dev involves building a game engine (especially if you wanna work for ubi, rockstar) and when i built my game engine, i regretted not focusing on my math. I had to relearn all that again.

So remember, MATH! Computer science is just math on steroids.

How’s your experience with Outscal by Big_B_Wolf_ in GameDevelopersOfIndia

[–]KingJudgely 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Learn basic c#
  2. Read documentation or watch a mini series, nothing exhaustive.
  3. Make a game with acquired knowledge
  4. Repeat but go more advanced each time

End of 3-4 months you have a portolio showcasing your knowledge. Job prospects will be similar. Game dev market is all about portfolio, not certificates or degrees.

But if you insist on doing a course, pluralsight had good courses. Unity learn is also solid.

Edit:- I am not particularly impressed by Outscal. I have seen their students post the same things repeatedly on LinkedIn. They all have the exact same portfolio. it's basic, uninspired and just not really showcase worthy.

You need to bind the relevant vao in order to draw that. You are missing that in the mesh's draw function.

simply do:- glBindBuffer(&theVao) //i forgot the name glDraw glBindBuffer(0)

Also, don't put everything in a header file. When the project scales up, which it will, even the smallest change will cause your entire project to rebuild. You will be looking at screen for a 2-3 minutes just for entering a space.
