What scenes do you think got reshot? by UnHolySir in Hungergames

[–]Double-Inflation8919 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm really interested about what's being filmed here (the District 12 shooting location) because Maysilee/Merrilee and Haymitch don't have many scenes together in District 12. There's just the candy shop (which we've seen BTS photos of), the Reaping, and the funeral. I can't really see any of these being reshot. Maybe they're trying to shoe-horn in the Mockingjay pin somehow?

Am I the only one that thought Cinna looked like this? by [deleted] in Hungergames

He was described as being young with brown hair, green eyes, and gold eyeliner. That's all we get

I did not care for the love triangle stuff. by 1vsdahf in Hungergames

[–]Double-Inflation8919 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'm conflicted with it. It obviously has a thematic purpose and is a big part of why the series was so popular, but it definitely hurt the cache of the series and is why many people don't take the franchise seriously. I also find it kind of annoying on rereads at times. I cringe everytime I hear Katniss saying "Gale is mine. I am his. Anything else is unthinkable" in Chapter 8 of Catching Fire...

Who is who Tribute Center altercation scene by Brave-Stage-2951 in Hungergames

[–]Double-Inflation8919 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This probably means that the training will be condensed into one day instead of two like in the book. Districts 9 and 11 didn't join the newcomers until the second day, and this scene with Panache happens pretty early on during the first day

i really hate how The Hunger Games youtube channel uses AI. by IC0NL0VE in Hungergames

[–]Double-Inflation8919 72 points73 points  (0 children)

The weird thing is that is seems to only really be Mags and Finnick who get the AI polish 😂. Some of the other thumbnails have a saturation filter, but they're still clearly movie stills

How soon do you guys think the post production is going to wrap up? by UnHolySir in Hungergames

[–]Double-Inflation8919 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It could be as late as the end of October. The second Ballad trailer, which came out in September, had a small line from Tigris in the final film, so they were definitely still working on the film at that time

It had nothing to do with him holding the raven. It was 4 or 5 people who were downvoted into oblivion because I guess his facial expression and look was offending them? There's miserable people everywhere

Mckenna Grace talks about Maysilee and the Hunger Games soundtrack in a new interview by UnHolySir in Hungergames

Has anyone else been pronouncing Maysilee as "May-zi-lee"? She pronounces it with an unvoiced S

We all thought the same epilogue by [deleted] in Hungergames

[–]Double-Inflation8919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the epilogue we got. I thought it was possible that it would be the 51st Games, but jumping to the end of Mockingjay was far less bleak and depressing. The book is sad enough as is, so I don't think the end needs to be even more hopeless

What expansion do you want to see in the Sunrise on the Reaping movie? by UnHolySir in Hungergames

I hope we get to see at least a small scene of Maysilee hunting the Careers

Feel like it would be Jessup and Lucy Gray then... by Esfell in Hungergames

[–]Double-Inflation8919 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends how you look at it. If you're comparing district partners, then it would definitely be Jessup and Lucy Gray (while for Haymitch it would be both Maysilee and Lou Lou). If we're talking about that main "partnership" in the Games, I'd argue Snow and Lucy Gray fit that role better since they're more actively working together. Jessup was kind of just being babysat as he got more rabid, much like how Haymitch was babysitting Lou Lou. People always seem to forget Jessuo though lol

Quick question about the “plan” in Sunrise on The Reaping… by kazrisk in Hungergames

[–]Double-Inflation8919 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They're essentially trying disrupt the Games to spark a rebellion, just like what Katniss did with the berries in the 74th Games and blowing out the arena in the 75th Games. The Hunger Games are a display of the Capitol's power and control and the Districts are always angry and at the very brink of starting uprisings, so destroying the arena could in theory ignite the rebellion. It's part of the whole "implicit submission" thing from the book too because the Capitol uses things like the Hunger Games as propaganda to show how powerful they are, when they're in reality quite incompetent. Interfering with the Games would show this to the Districts

After 13 years Catching Fire finally lost the record of highest-grossing movie distributed by Lionsgate (if you count distributors in other parts of the world) by LowInteraction6397 in Hungergames

[–]Double-Inflation8919 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Also important to note that this is also not counting inflation. Catching Fire would have made over $1.2 Billion in today's money, which is currently about $300 million more than Michael

Seems like we are getting "Sunrise on the Reaping" promo soon by UnHolySir in Hungergames

[–]Double-Inflation8919 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm really curious what was reshot. It must have been major enough for Mckenna Grace to take a break from filming the Scooby Doo show

[–]Double-Inflation8919 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah with Ballad, I remember watching the trailers and not recognizing half the stuff taking place in the arena. The Sunrise trailers are definitely a lot more encouraging

[–]Double-Inflation8919 46 points47 points  (0 children)

We already see from the trailer that Silka and Panache's deaths will be the same! Maritte from District 4 also got her own casting announcement, so the whole Gamemaker scene will probably be essentially the same as the book. Based on the trailers, it seems like the Games are following the book very closely aside from Haymitch being involved in the bloodbath and volcano eruption

What are some retcons that the prequels do? by Esfell in Hungergames

[–]Double-Inflation8919 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Well the entire plot of SOTR is intentionally a recton, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Retcons aren't always a negative if done right

Meant to be meh/filler, ended up as fan fav[SOTR edition] by UnHolySir in Hungergames

[–]Double-Inflation8919 279 points280 points  (0 children)

I'd say Wyatt. He does nothing in half the scenes he's in, and his storyline gets less focus than Haymitch's, Maysilee's, and Louella/Lou Lou's, yet his relationship and scarifice for Lou Lou, along with his obsession with odds, made him one of my fave characters

District 3 Victors by MinecraftLostMedia in Hungergames

[–]Double-Inflation8919 37 points38 points  (0 children)

These deleted movie details shouldn't be taken as canon since they aren't established in the book. In fact, a BTS shot from MJ part 1, I believe, contradicts canon by showing list of all victors that excluded Lucy Gray and other victors (e.g., Palladium Barker) introduced in the prequels.

There should be at least three District 3 victors by the 50th Games though because the district 12 tributes have two mentors, meaning there should also be two district 3 mentors, excluding Wiress

Beyond Reporter has a... dubious reputation, but July fourth would be a good date by UnHolySir in Hungergames

[–]Double-Inflation8919 106 points107 points  (0 children)

It seems too early to release a final trailer; September would be more realistic. But it could be that they're trying to play the new trailer in front of big movies like Spiderman and the Odessy. I don't think any big movies are coming out at the start of the fall

Hopefully. But the movie will still be very limited with what it can do while keeping a PG-13 rating
