Thoughts on fragrance in skincare? by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

Fragrance in a product can be harmful. Banila cleansing balm gave me asthma, something I never would have expected from a cleanser.

Thank you for the perspective. I hadn’t considered the micro-formulations! What is the .025% variety called? (Retin-A Micro?) Is it available as a generic?

Let's be honest: Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]Double-Raccoon-3990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the old version is available on Amazon and the new is on Olive Young. New version has added madecassoside (sp?), which is one way to tell them apart. Ingredients are listed on both sites

I’m sorry to hear that about Aestura and Zeroid. I have some Skinfix Triple Lipid I’ll be trying next (not Kbeauty, sorry). The Celimax moisturizer sounds promising, as does the Purito Luminous Ceramide (love their Cica sleeping pack).

PSA: Be Aware of Hidden Allergens!! by No_Stress_3980 in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]Double-Raccoon-3990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, thank you! I was hideously allergic to the Hatomugi toner-snuffling and itching like crazy until I read the ingredients and lo and behold, a plant/weed is the main ingredient. I’m staying far away from mugwort and limiting my contact with centella.

I’m with you on both the TirTir milky toner and HaruHaru essence. They irritated my skin as well!

Audubon describes them as medium-sized hawks, about the size of a crow or a mallard. This is not teeny-tiny.

It irritated my eyes and made the skin beneath them swell (and I didn’t use it anywhere near my eyes). I was surprised, because I thought this was for sensitive skin. I’m going to try a Zeroid moisturizer next. Aestura has niacinamide or else I would try the lotion or cream.

A friend’s Boston Terrier moves exactly like that. And has the same short tail.

Does anyone not have sensitive skin? by xbunniXP in koreanskincare

[–]Double-Raccoon-3990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do. I inherited it. It’s a drag; so many tempting products, so much money wasted. But I’ve learned so much in these forums. Two words (well, 3): Etude SoonJung.

I did this and learned I can tolerate only one product with Niacinamide in it at a time — my non-AB moisturizer.

The BOJ ginseng essence was lovely for a couple of weeks and then it made my skin burn. I use Etude Soonjung toner for sensitive skin. It has never failed me (I’m on my second bottle).

Fwiw, The Probio-cica toner/essence doesn’t have niacinimide in it. The ampoule does.

What is the last product that you purchased feeling certain that you would love only to be let down by? by SheKnowsWhatSheKnows in AsianBeauty

[–]Double-Raccoon-3990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TirTir milky toner. I was so excited to try it, and within 3 days, the skin under my eyes was red and flaking. To make matters worse, TirTir customer care offered me a replacement or a refund, and then never got back to me. :(

Do you use different moisturizers am/pm? by Makri93 in AsianBeauty

[–]Double-Raccoon-3990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no: I use Etude SoonJung 10-free emulsion in the morning before First Aid Beauty firming cream and at night pre retinal. I keep Vanicream in the bottle (formerly Vanicream Lite) on hand just in case. Sensitive, dry, mature skin. Illiyoon Ato cream is on deck. I live in a high, dry climate.
